Job Description BAE Systems is offering an exciting opportunity to support an important and dynamic Department of Justice customer as a Software Engineer/Developer supporting a highly capable and diverse team driving technical innovation. The successful candidate should independently be able to develop and code software solutions that provide needed capabilities in support of customer mission related activities. The Software Engineer will design, implement, and maintain Windows and/or Linux applications or systems based on customer-driven requirements for the purpose of collecting, processing, and or/or dissemination of lawfully collected data. Required Education, Experience, & Skills *The candidate must have an Active TS Security clearance and willing to undergo a Counter Intelligence Polygraph after onboarding. Candidate will not be considered without it.Minimum Education and Overall Experience: Bachelors of Science (B.S.) Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Masters of Science (M.S.) in Information Systems and eight (8) or more years of technical experience as a developer on host applications and/or embedded processing systems; Required Skills and Experience Areas: * The Senior-Level (Expert) Software Engineer will have eight (8) or more years of technical experience as a developer on host applications and/or embedded processing systems;* The Software Engineer will have experience in deriving design specifications for functional activities;* Five (5) or more years technical experience as a developer working on lawful intercept solutions;* Experience in Windows and/or Linux applications and driver development;* Ability to develop, troubleshoot, and test complex software to satisfy design objectives;* Experience in networking protocols such as TCP/IP and network-based communication protocols, including reverse-engineering of applications; and* Experience in the use of programming languages such as C, C++, C, and .NET Framework.* In addition the Software Engineer will have: Working knowledge and experience in participating in Agile software practices and team design session; and demonstrated problem solving abilities with the ability to explore and evaluate many possible solutions to problems.
