Become a part of the ''strength within.''Hexcel Corporation is currently seeking an Ultrasonic (NDT) Technician Level 3 for our Kent, WA location.The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:* Utilize automated scanning systems such as AUSS, and MAUS. Experience with phased array a plus. Operate portable ultrasonic flaw detection equipment for through transmission and pulse-echo methods. Organize and document inspection results and use the applicable specifications, codes, standards and other contract documents to prepare procedures and techniques for Level III approval.* Select the method and technique for a specific inspection. Interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method used at their site. Prepare and verify the adequacy of procedures in the method certified.* Set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests, and interpret, evaluate, and document results, in accordance with written techniques and procedures. Organize and document ultrasonic system calibration results. Audit company NDT facilities for compliance with the specification and NADCAP requirements.* Assist Responsible/Primary Level 3 as directed in support of training and certification programs. Assume technical responsibility for the NDT facility and staff as backup to Principle Level 3. Approve NDT procedures and other NDT-related work instructions for technical adequacy in the method to which they are certified.* Conduct Ultrasonic testing for part acceptance. Have general knowledge of all other NDT methods and product technologies used at their facility and within the aerospace industry.Qualifications:* A minimum of 6 years previous experience as a certified Level 2 ultrasonic technician prior to a current Level 3 certification; ultrasonic inspection experience in aerospace composites is highly preferred. Technical degree in NDT with 1 year ultrasonic inspection experience or high school graduate with 2 years relevant experience and documented proof of previous or current Ultrasonic Level III certification.* Must hold current ASNT Level 3 UT certificate and must be qualified for certification in accordance with NAS410 and shall be capable of passing Hexcel Level 3 ultrasonic testing examinations within 90 days of employment.* Experience working with portable ultrasonic flaw detection equipment for through-transmission and pulse-echo methods, automated scanning systems such as AUSS, and MAUS. Experience with phased array a plus.* Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle and feel. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 35 pounds.
