Job Title:DOCSIS QA EngineerPhiladelphia, PA Location 12+ Months Contract Job Description:The DOCSIS QA Engineer is responsible for validating Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and back-end systems for CPE. Candidate is responsible for QA Defects Validation, Field DOCSIS Defects ValidationCPE DOCSIS Lab setups, Outdoor GW Release validation on request, Legacy/COAM Modem DOCSIS Validations on request, CPE device Mid Split/ High Split testing on new vCMTS/RPD Release on requestCPE DOCSIS userstory validation, Proof of concept of DOCSIS New features, Lab and infrastructure support of I-CMTS and vCMTS.Work closely with other QA, software and product engineers to create, maintain and evolve test plans and automation to drive DOCSIS testing.Actively participate in issue triage / troubleshooting.Clearly document processes used.Ensure effective communications with peers and management. Qualifications/Skills/Abilities: (Not necessary all needed but as many as possible)Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.working knowledge of DOCSIS Specifications including the following technologies; DOCSIS 2.0, DOCSIS 3.0, DOCSIS 3.1Strong Knowledge of IP networking principles and relevant protocols IEEE 802.3 (Ethernet)Knowledge of HFC / DOCSIS, VoIP networks and Tools requiredStrong Knowledge of wireless network (Wi-Fi) concepts and standards IEEE 802.11 (WLAN)Working knowledge on Cisco cBR8. Casa C100G, Commscope E6000;RPD; EPON OLT; as well as associated CPE products.Experience working with TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6 addressing, Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, ICMP, ARP, NAT, Bridging, Switching.Must be able to work independentlyHands on work in a lab or cable system environmentStrong background in designing or extending existing test frameworksExcellent Debugging skills & experience troubleshootingWorking knowledge of UNIX-based systems and command-line tools for analysis, and automationExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Understanding of and experience with the full product development lifecycle, including functional and technical specifications, product use cases, user stories, implementation, QA processes, deployment and maintenanceThrive in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while confidently driving multiple projects across many teamsExcellent communication skills, ability to lead the projects and present them to SLT.Exposure to technical skills such as Object Oriented programming (JAVA) for automating CPE testing. - provided by Dice
