Find your future with us.Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking Experienced Phantom Works Structures and Sub-System Strength Engineers for the Phantom Works Division, located in Berkeley, Missouri, MO, or Hazelwood, Missouri, MO. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for the structural performance and structural integrity of air vehicle components.Phantom Works programs develop complex, highly integrated, advanced systems, enabling future growth for Boeing and our Department of Defense (DoD) Customers. Individuals that aspire to lead technical teams, drive innovation, and take action to solve challenging problems, while shaping the future are ideal candidates for this position.Seeking engineers that possesses the following tenets in alignment with the Phantom Works culture:Thrive in a fast paced environmentEager to lead & take actionSet high standards for themselves and othersPassionately honor commitmentsStrive to be the best while developing the best in othersDeliver results to achieve the unthinkablePosition Responsibilities:Your duties as an engineer will include (but are not limited to):Perform structural analysis tasksCoordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product''s environmentGuide product design and verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models / simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performanceDevelop test plans and configurations, support test execution, and analyze test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specificationsDefine and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfiedInvestigates emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirementsSupport internal / external design reviews, technical interchange meetings (TIMs), preliminary / critical design reviews (PDR / CDR) with CustomersPursue process maturity to reduce costsThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Aeronautical/Aerospace/Astronautical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering3+ years'' experience working with Finite Element Models (FEM) and tools (NASTRAN/PATRAN)3+ years'' experience of structural analysis on military aerospace products3+ years'' experience with design/analysis of metallic and composite structure.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with the analysis and design of advanced composite structureExperience with low observable structures and materialsExperience with the full air vehicle development cycleExperience in a rapid prototyping environmentExperience with structural configuration workStrong background utilizing classical hand analysis as well as finite element methods and toolsTypical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years'' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years'' related work experience).
