Job Description

Highlights: * In this multi-year project, you will help develop and test military fire control solutions that use radars and other sensors to find, detect, and track weapon systems. These solutions are designed for a myriad of systems each with its own respective mission objectives.* You will be part of a dynamic team of engineers, scientists, and programmers. You will work with the nation''s armed forces alongside top-notch talent from the civilian, contractor, and military sectors, and you will have access to advanced test equipment and analysis software. Telework is available. * In this project, you will help develop systems to provide real-time detection and tracking of threats. Your work will employ algorithmic processes to obtain real-time solutions for unique threat neutralization. * By applying your hands-on knowledge of MATLAB, computer programming, machine learning, and numerical methods, you will play a direct role in transitioning new technologies from the laboratory to the battlefield. * In this role, you will build your strengths in system-of-systems design, machine learning, and hardware/software integration. You will be exposed to new analysis tools, test equipment and test and development methods. Each day will present a new opportunity to learn and grow. Professional development is encouraged and expected at I-3. Typical Day: A typical day will be spent in telework or at the office and lab, involving a wide variety of activities such as design and analysis, testing and evaluation of algorithms and data visualization tools, customer meetings, and design review meetings. Telework is available when working on unclassified data. Tasks: Primary responsibilities are to: * Develop and implement methods to design and test fire control solutions, develop tracking algorithms for CUAV programs, and align data from different sensors; * Design and implement methods to label the data, detect and classify targets, and analyze system performance; * Help plan and execute field tests to collect sensor data with realistic targets in relevant environments; * Develop and present technical briefings and reports. Required Qualifications:* BS with 5+ years of work experience that includes one or more of the following: * fire control systems, * modeling ballistic flights, and detonation, * basic familiarity with radar systems. * Strong skills in using MATLAB for data analysis, image processing, and general modeling of dynamic systems. * Strong background in physics and mathematics. * Excellent spoken and written communication skills. * Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.* Ability to routinely operate computers and typical office equipment. Desired Qualifications: * MS or higher with 3+ years of experience. * Hands-on experience in computer vision, and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) for target detection and classification. * Experience with real-time image processing. Experience working with large data sets. US Citizenship & Clearance Requirements: US Citizenship Required. Must be eligible to obtain a SECRET clearance (active clearance SECRET or higher is preferred) Telework & On-site: During the present pandemic, most work is remote with occasional visits to Picatinny Arsenal. In the future, we anticipate a typical daytime office schedule, with the option to work off-site when the work does not involve classified data.
