Job Description

The Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) applies practical knowledge of development and engineering to conceive, design, develop and implement test plans and automation for new and existing software systems and applications of high complexity at scale, with a high focus on performance, load, and stability/resilience testing. In addition to owning the test plans and automation applicable to perf/load/stability, the Lead Software Engineer owns and maintains the lab infrastructure for the various products developed in Media Distribution. The Lead Engineer provides technical guidance and acts as a point of escalation and technical expert for matters of performance and resilience.Please note that this role is open to the NYC, Seattle, and Santa Monica HQs or can be remote. DisneyTech Own end-to-end test strategy, analyze requirements, build test plans, design test cases and implement test automation with a focus on performance, load, and stability/resilience Minimum of 7 years of experience in Quality Assurance or test automation Review and write test automation code for both frontend and backend systemsDiagnose, debug and perform root cause analysis for issues in production or test environmentsWhere vital, develop and execute manual test cases to detect issues or run perf/load/stability tests that cannot be performed through automated meansCreate and maintain test data that matches real world use cases at scale for manual and automated testingTrack and accurately report test coverage, test execution and quality metricsExecute test cases and report perf/resilience/stability metrics as well as defects found in the issue tracking systemParticipate in defining the quality strategy roadmap and contribute to the evolution of quality best practicesParticipate in Sustainment and Project planning and oversee execution of quality strategy in Project and Sustainment activitiesMentor engineering teams in the area of Quality Assurance and Test AutomationRecommend improvements to processes, technology, infrastructure and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the teamInteract and coordinate testing with other technical groups in the organizationOwn and maintain the lab infrastructure and its operational readinessThe pay range for this position in Colorado is $129,150 to $173,250 per year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
