The Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers and technical specialists that are responsible for projects related but not limited to mitigating and improving transmission, sub-transmission and distribution poles and/or towers structural analysis and/or line design. Leads a team of engineers to develop and approve new and modified equipment and hardware for the engineering department. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Transmission Engineering. Creating a clear vision and operationalize this vision into an actionable roadmap for the group to bring high values to the company. Functioning as a strategic technical leader for T&D Engineering to advise, consult T&D Leadership on major projects issues, leading a highly technical team to solve field issues, presenting to leadership and gaining support. Managing performance, coaching, providing feedback and improvement for engineers to become more effective and efficient in delivering solutions and results. Managing workload, resources, constraints, leveraging external consulting resources to optimize output to support T&D capital projects. Develops and updates transmission and distribution design functional specifications, interfaces with cross functional organizations to provide transmission and distribution structural support to SCE''s internal and external clients. Consults on structural specifications, analysis of rule changes relating to structures and pole loading software development. QualificationsThe essentials Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a supervisor or an Engineer or Planner in electric utility Transmission, Substation and/or Distribution design. The preferred Bachelor''s Degree in Engineering or related STEM field Professional Engineer''s License Seven or more years of technical experience in transmission, and/or substation engineering utilizing PLS-CADD, PLS-Tower, PLS-Pole, SAP2000, SPiDA, SAG10, AUTO-CADD as designing tools Engineering experience with electric utility Distribution and Transmission Systems using California GO95 or NESC rules. Experience with design and analysis of lattice steel towers or other Transmission line support structures and/or transmission line projects Ability to interface, communicate effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, project personnel, and all levels of management enterprise-wide to develop solutions and ensure partner agreement.
