As a CX Strategist/Information Architect with Octo, you will join an Agile program responsible for the development, maintenance, security, and operational support of new and existing applications. You will work with the client and stakeholders to understand business objectives and perform human-centered design (HCD) research activities, such as creating user personas, journey maps, and conducting usability studies. You may also conduct expert reviews on designs, participate in design ideation sessions, help with designs using a design system, and help ensure that designs are Section 508 compliant. This program will support the agency''s Information Technology mission to provide development and operational support of new and existing legacy mission-enabling applications. The team will work to modernize current applications by breaking them down into loosely coupled micro-services and leveraging a continuous integration / continuous delivery pipeline to enable an agile DevOps Strategy. Skills & Requirements Required Skills... * Ability to work closely with stakeholders, end-users, and the development team to promote UX industry best practices to enhance employee engagement and deliver a well-designed application and pleasant user experience * Ability to produce detailed flow diagrams that define existing business processes, pain points, and opportunities, as well as new flow diagrams that show how to remove pain points and realize identified opportunities for an enhanced user experience * Create and conduct effective user interviews, focus groups, and usability studies and synthesize the results into user personas, journey maps, and other user design documents to direct future development tasks * Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to communicate information architecture and design to stakeholders and development team * Ability to gather usage and user behavior data to perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis to inform application design and future development tasks * Work with UX and development teams to suggest incremental design and process changes that improve the user experience based on research feedback. * Lead design ideation sessions and assist with design * Understand and ensure usability standards and best practices and convey that knowledge to developers. Desired Skills... * Experience designing/implementing SharePoint/.NET applications * Experience working within an established design style and demonstrated ability to influence/enhance that established design style, when necessary * Experience using CSS, HTML, XML, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and other similar technologies * Knowledge of information architecture and database design * Section 508 compliance design and testing preferred * Strong self-organization and self-management skills * Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail and an ability to think outside the box about problems and propose creative solutions * Experience working in a Government Agile environment Years of Experience: 8+ years of real-world experience with HCD tools and techniques such as moderated and unmoderated usability testing, interviews, focus groups, expert reviews, surveys, analytics, personas, journey maps, etc. Education: Bachelor''s degree preferred.
