Job Description VP of IT Houston, TX or Remote in EST/CST time zone Full-time Salary Commensurate with Level of Experience Our client, a national leader in the Green Energy Construction Industry, is seeking a proven leader to take over the VP of IT role. In this role you will have a team of internal IT professionals, consultants and vendors reporting to you. You will have overall responsibility for infrastructure, applications, enterprise systems and security. Prior experience in the construction industry or manufacturing is preferred, but certainly not a requirement. Successful candidates will drive a digital enablement strategy, lead web and collaboration development initiatives, upgrade existing infrastructure, secure the IT footprint and focus on delivering a frictionless employee experience. While this is not a day-to-day hands-on tech role, you need to understand overall IT architecture and security, personnel management skills, budgeting, vendor management and stakeholder/executive management. Qualifications Bachelor''s degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent training/experience required At least 10 years of experience in Information Technology and minimum of 5 years leading teams Experience in leading successful implementations and migrations Exceptional communication - including verbal, written, and presentation skills Strong negotiation skills in working with internal and external entities Solid understand of IT spend and budgeting Advanced, senior level experience in various project management methodologies and practices Demonstrated capabilities in managing the development of modern solutions, data integrationand continuous improvement and delivery Exceptional, proven analytical and problem-solving skills, must be able to proactively engage stakeholders to make recommendations and drive delivery Comfortable with ambiguity, takes initiative, and is driven to succeed PMP, nice to have not required Responsibilities In this fast-paced environment, you''ll navigate and overcome challenges, paving the way for you and your team to experience continued success and growth You''ll work closely with geographically dispersed stakeholders and IT technical teams & vendors on critical initiatives You will help develop and drive a digital enablement strategy, lead web and collaboration development initiatives, upgrade existing infrastructure, secure the IT footprint and focus on delivering a frictionless employee experience Your responsibilities will include managing resources, project financials and delivery, and the development of full life cycle systems Your leadership skills will help motivate the team to meet challenging project targets and help them grow in their career Your superior communication and coordination skills will help in stakeholder management for efficient execution of your projects Lead a highly functioning team, focused on building a strong foundation for creating a flexible, user friendly, secure IT surface that supports the work of the company Develop and manage staff training plans, career planning opportunities, performance evaluations, in additional to coaching and mentoring staff Form a strategic partnership between the business units and our Information Technology organization through active listening, collaboration, and transparency Contribute to business unit and our IT strategic and operational initiatives planning discussions and seek to create a clear understanding of priorities Have sufficient technical depth to be able to solve problems and provide insight and answers to both the business and IT with minimal delegation Identify opportunities where IT and the business units can work closer together Partner with respective finance and procurement teams to gain understanding of current spend and future needs Propose innovative and thought-leading solutions to create efficiencies for the business Effectively manage all demands placed upon systems which may require negotiating priorities with various departments within IT and/or with the business Continually seek to improve processes and performance improvement by applying best practices and cost-benefit-analyses for all initiatives used Identify technology needs and make recommendations to business decision-makers Evaluate the company''s adherence to federal technology requirements for security as it relates to the IT organization and portfolio Manage the IT team including network engineering, developers, business analysts, support technicians and vendors Implement company-wide technology updates and partner with business and organizational change management to engage employees on new features and capabilities Networks throughout the company to develop relationships, share methodologies, and learn from others Proactively expands knowledge and seeks best practices in area of responsibility Track record of building and effectively managing large and diverse teams, and putting the appropriate processes and infrastructure in place to support the overall strategy Be a part of the ConsultNet difference.
