Responsibilities Establishes and maintains smooth operation of computer systems (to include operating systems, software, and hardware) in networked or stand-alone configurations, maintains system integrity, and upgrades systems and/or servers as required. May create and document new methods supporting network/system operations and implement changes to procedures. Consults with support teams, help desks, customers, and other technical staff in the resolution of problems, coordinates and performs the operation and/or maintenance activities for networks/servers, identify recurring problems, and recommends steps to reduce the severity or frequency of problems. May plan for the transition of development and/or production environments to new technologies, utilize system software to monitor the performance of system files, manage system data to maintain performance efficiencies, and/or study system requirements to determine proper server installation methods and procedures. * Provides regular monitoring and system analysis regarding short and long-range planning for in-house systems. * Applies patches and upgrades to the systems as needed. * Prepares or ensures that appropriate system documentation exists, including operational instructions. * May coordinate third-party maintenance for SATCOM equipment. * Installs all new hardware, systems, and software for SATCOM systems. * Monitor SSPA, LNA/LNB, up and down converters and provide technical support to optimize utilization. * Provide training to users on SATCOM systems. * Attends weekly video teleconferences. * Performs troubleshooting analysis of SSPA, LNA/LNB, up and down converters, Fiber Optic/Coax/Ethernet cables that support satellite systems. * Provides monthly reports of SATCOM issues. Qualifications High School with 3 - 6 years (or commensurate experience) Required Skills and Experience * High School with 3 - 6 years (or commensurate experience) * Possess a valid and current U.S. Passport and Driver''s License. * Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI. Please be aware that this position requires a security clearance, or the ability to obtain one. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S citizens. In addition, applicants who accept a conditional offer of employment may be subject to government security investigation(s) and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information. * 5 years of experience operating fixed or deployable satellite systems. * 5 years of experience performing or directly supporting installations, repair, troubleshooting, or maintenance of electronic systems. * 5 years of experience, in a tactical environment, operating and maintaining antenna controllers, SSPA, LNA/LNB, up and down converters, Fiber Optic/Coax/Ethernet cables, Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA), and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) modems (satellite modems). * 5 years of experience operating and maintaining commercial and military satellite acquisition procedures and commercial TDMA/DAMA modems. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Must be able to lift 50 lbs. * Prior military experience and/or experience supporting Military Forces in Iraq and/or Afghanistan Preferred Skills and Experience * Experience working in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) * CompTIA Security Plus or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security (or higher). * CompTIA Network Plus or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) (or higher).
