Job Description: Modeling & Simulation Engineer Parsons is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Engineer to support on-going Science and Technology (S&T) efforts at one of the Army''s premier R&D Centers at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland. As a modeling & simulation engineer you will work with a team of experts to develop a software simulation environment which models the data processing chain of a major US Army Radar system. This is a significant opportunity to implement a product from the ground up while learning the inner workings of radar processing algorithms and techniques. The data products from this modeling and simulation capability will influence the Army''s next generation of radar systems and technologies. Duties and Responsibilities: * Develop realistic radar model with corresponding simulation environment* Implement radar processing chain following algorithm description documents, interface implementation documents and guidance from subject matter experts* Identify bottlenecks and propose performance improvements* Aid analysis and debug of simulation systems to achieve correct operation and assess fidelity* Characterize system behavior and performance* Write technical documentation such as operating instructions, model description, technical specification, operational performance, etc...* Develop and implement best practices for organizing and storing data products* Demonstrate system to stakeholders Qualifications: * BS in relevant STEM field* 3+ years of experience in systems engineering or modeling and simulation* Capability to analyze and decompose technical problems* Experience programming with MATLAB (C/C++ is a plus but not required)* Experience developing system and sub-system level models* Experience with hardware-in-the-loop desired but not required* Experience with Git in a team environment* Desire and interest to learn and grow outside of core job requirements* Ability to learn other coding languages as needed* This position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense Secret and eligible for a TS/SCI level security clearance, which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.
