Senior Application Architect (Remote)

The Enterprise EyeQ team within the development group at IHS Markit is seeking a Senior Application Architect to lead key development and delivery efforts of Enterprise EyeQ solutions. This team is responsible for the development and support of Enterprise EyeQ product and adding new features and enhancements to enable strategic and commercial roadmap items in the product line. The Senior Application Architect is a key leadership role in the organization that leads multiple development teams and produces enterprise architecture models and strategies that organize and rationalize systems , products, and information assets to ensure business and technology alignment. Deliverables include architecture assessments, design details around key architectural considerations , operational business architecture, blueprints and roadmaps, reference implementations, and technology assessments. This role is instrumental in providing technology leadership within the group and working the several workstream leads to bring the solution to fruition .Skills and ExperienceBachelors or Masters degree in Computer ScienceExperience designing solutions founded on strong fundamentals of Computer Science and not hust out-of-the-box frameworks and packages10 years overall industry experience as an architect or developerPrior experience i n leading one or many groups of developers from ideation to architecture, design and development phases all the way through to successful deliveryExperience in working with Product organizations, in understanding the requirements and translating them to effective solutionsExcellent coordination and communication skillsExpertise in all facets of application development including but not limited to web applications using primarily Java , JavaScript, Restful APIs, high volume data transactions and working with complex problems and providing creative but sound solutions.Experience in A WS could native application developmentExperience with federated authentication/authorization systems - SAML, JWT, OAuth2, etc.Extensive knowledge of Agile development methodologies and end-to-end software development lifecycleExperienced in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), API-centric architecture, Object-Oriented Analysis, and Design (OOAD) principlesExpertise in creating architectural diagrams and user flows in modeling software like Visio or LucidChartProven experience collaborating with subject matter experts among various functional groupsStrong problem-solving skills ability to evaluate and solve complex problems in conventional and non-conventional ways Duties & AccountabilitiesWorks with business units to translate business strategy into discrete capabilities and helps to identify technology capability gaps in systemsProvides solutions and expertise to optimize cloud use based on industry best practices and internal guidelinesCollaborating with business units to provide a high-level, all-inclusive vision of enterprise solutions and development initiativesDefining key technical initiatives that support budgets.
