Overview: Oncology Practice General ManagerShenandoah Oncology is looking for a strong leader for our Executive Director role who will drive success for our community-based oncology practice. This role offers a competitive compensation package which includes base salary and a bonus plan structured to reward corporate and individual performance along with a comprehensive benefit package including health, dental, life and disability insurance and a 401K plan. This role maintains the overall responsibility for the operation of the practice except for those activities directly involving the practice of medicine. The Executive Director is responsible for developing, planning, executing, and controlling broad activities to ensure long and short term success, including ensuring financial stability and planning for short and long term growth. Additionally, the Executive Director is responsible for creating a culture that engages employees and physicians in an environment of trust where employees are passionate about their roles, they work collaboratively, and foster a positive patient experience.This role works as liaison between Shenandoah Oncology and The US Oncology Network. The Executive Director advises the Practice President, Regional Senior Vice President and the Practice''s Joint Policy Board, and is ultimately responsible for delivering overall operating plans, and related policies/programs for Shenandoah Oncology. Reporting Relationship Reports directly to the Regional Senior Vice President of Operations and directly supports the Practice President and the Executive Board of the of the Practice and Practice Divisions Reporting to this position may include: Practice Manager; Business Office Manager; Director of Managed Care and Marketing; Manager of Pharmacy Services; Manager of Nursing Services; Information Technology Manager; Responsibilities: Responsibilities and Duties Leads the development and implementation of the short and long range plans to achieve the organization''s goals and objectives including specific strategy and plans for growth, efficiency, cost management, quality care, and development of human capital Owns the organization''s development process for the practice and as such, ensures performance planning, coaching and development plans are in place for all employees to maximize their potential. Insures the employee evaluation process to include performance evaluations, merit increases, promotions and disciplinary actions are complied with. Maintains physician/practice relationships via effective communication to physician practice leadership and works with physician leadership to ensure the practices strategic short and long term plans are in concert with US Oncology''s plans. Maintains Hospital relationships in conjunction with physician leadership. Drives joint initiatives between the practice and hospital system(s) Evaluates general and specific business conditions as they relate to operational issues, and keeps the Practice President, Policy Board, and the Regional Senior Vice President fully advised on these matters. Responsible for the overall culture of the practice, developing talent and teamwork, and driving organizational change to drive strong performance as well as a positive work environment. Qualifications: Education Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Management, Administration, or a related business field required, (MBA, MHA, preferred). Minimum seven (7) years of experience in healthcare management and operations, including large group, practice management required. Experience building relationships with practice physicians. Experience & Competencies Requires an accomplished executive with outstanding leadership, physician relationship, team work and general management skills. Strategic, operational, and financial experience in a healthcare services business where the primary drivers are: marketing of services, quality of service, optimal utilization of assets, billing and collection, and working closely with physician partners Evidence of creativity, intensity, high integrity, reasoned and thoughtful judgment, sense of urgency, a balance between analytical and intuitive skills and a willingness to ''roll-up sleeves'' to apply these attributes. Able to articulate clear, meaningful goals and focus peoples'' efforts to get results Evidence of the ability to rapidly establish credibility at all levels of the organization, particularly at the front lines with professional and technical personnel. Requires maturity, self-confidence and sensitivity to function comfortably and effectively in a demanding environment Experience in and understanding of complex payer markets including Accountable Care Organizations, Commercial Payers, and Value Based Care.
