Senior Network Engineer

Job Description Title: Senior Network Engineer Location: Danbury CT (Hybrid)Type: Fulltime/Direct Hire Summary:The Lead Network Engineer serves as the point person for activities and staff within the core workgroup of the Network Services Team and acts as a liaison between departments and the Information Technology department to resolve operational problems and facilitate communications. The Lead must possess excellent interpersonal skills, which include communication (both written and verbal). Project and work approach is team centric, creative, analytical and flexible. Able to lead and manage high quality project work and work orders assigned to the network team. Responsibilities: Manage the organizations LAN, WAN, and WLAN, design and implementation. Recommends network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices. Provides hands-on technical and architectural knowledge of network infrastructure, protocols, and Internet standards, including TCP/IP, wireless, routing and switching. Escalation point for the core group and organization. Competence with network testing tools. Organizational knowledge of goals and objectives. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Leads research into networking issues and products as required. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment. Desired Experience: Bachelor''s Degree and a minimum of five to seven years of direct appropriate work experience, or an appropriate combination of education, certification and experience in a related field from an accredited institution. Strong knowledge of mainstream networking and security technology with detailed knowledge of routing, switches, wireless and firewall technology. Strong Network design with disaster recovery and business continuity knowledge. Travel between all Health Quest sites is a requirement of the job. Primary on-call rotation for 24x7x365 support of the system is required. Substantial demands for visual acuity and sitting. Considerable demand for analyzing, perception/comprehension, judgment, complex reading and writing, memorization, and decision-making. It is necessary to attend vendor meetings, training and/or User Group Conferences. Ability to lead team and complex projects.
