65043BRJob Posting Title:Registered Nurse, Vascular Access Team, InpatientDepartment:Patient Services-NursingAutoReqId:65043BRStatus:Part-TimeStandard Hours per Week:36 Job Posting Category:NursingJob Posting Description:This Staff Nurse will be responsible for:Providing vascular access nursing care incorporating the Boston Childrens Hospital Nursing Synergy Model components.Placement of peripheral IVs and PICC lines for patients from infancy to adult using vascular visualization devices including ultrasound.Patient/family education.Consulting with staff related to vascular access devices and complications of vascular access.Caring for and maintaining vascular access devices and clinical interventions for PICC issues: including clearance of occluded catheters, removal of catheters with resistance, dressing protocols for skin issues.Providing unit-based education.Participating in quality and process improvement projects.Working 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, day/evening rotation with occasional night coverage, every third weekend. To qualify, you must have:A Bachelor of Science in Nursing Minimum of 2 - 3 years RN experience, including experience inserting and caring for vascular access devices.
