Job Description

The Operational Risk Sr. Manager is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically, there is a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas. Responsible for allocation of work within the project. Attention to detail and comprehensive experience in the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery field. This may include, but is not limited to Business Impact Analysis, Business Recovery Plans, Technology Recovery Plans, Application Recovery Plans, and Testing for Business/Technology areas of responsibility. In addition, the role may also include assessments of risk arising from harm to building and infrastructure availability (i.e., premises, utility/infrastructure outage, etc.). The role may have program deliverables related to technology, third-party supplier reviews and any additional infrastructure/application resiliency matters as necessary. The ability to work independently as well as within a team. Responsibilities: Execute a robust program to perform end-to-end reviews of Continuity of Business Plans, Crisis Management Plans, Hazard Mitigation Plans, Technology Plans, and all associated documentation. Apply operational risk management guidelines and procedures for identifying First Line of Defense (FLOD) risks. Ensure FLOD program is effective and within in Risk Appetite set by Citi. Analyze, capture, and report risks. Collaborate with FLOD technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and management regarding all aspects of Business and Technology recovery planning and testing Functions as SME on selected Citi Real Estate Services (CRS) related risks (premises, utility/ infrastructure outages, etc.) Provide oversight and challenges on business and supporting resource unit recovery capabilities and controls for areas of responsibility, including business process/facility recovery strategies. Evaluate, advise, and ensure effectiveness of business and supporting resource unit capabilities and controls across Citi. Pursue continuous improvement and challenge adoption of lessons learned during resilience related tests, exercises, and simulations. Provide challenges on Key Indicators and Material Operational Risks. Work with FLOD in the review of the documentation and reporting. Provide critical analysis and input into the review process as required. Assist in key policy adherence and monitoring/reporting. Keep Management aware of the risk and control environment through continuous and open communication, and follow-up on issues, concerns, and corrective action plans. Ensure adherence to the Citi Operational Risk Policy regarding operational loss approvals and reporting. Ensure a sound control environment from a Continuity of Business/Operational Resilience perspective, including adherence to relevant policies where appropriate. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm''s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. Qualifications: Experienced Operational Risk and Resilience practitioner with 5+ years of First or Second Line of Defense, business continuity, facility and/or infrastructure, disaster recovery, technology risk management related experience. Knowledge of resilience and recovery principles and processes, to include up to date knowledge of current building, utility, and infrastructure solutions. Knowledge of business continuity related guidance, including, FFIEC, ISO, NIST, DRI, etc. Ability to discern business relevant risk associated with control deficiencies observed during recovery exercises or control assessments, and to identify corresponding remediation efforts required to reduce business impacts. Excellent oral and written communications skills; Must be articulate and persuasive. Ability to drive change to business practices by working effectively. Self-starting individual capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking in a dynamic, fast paced environment. Ability to work in a team environment, listen and work well with others. Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy and has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. Client-focused and open to different ideas/viewpoints. Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem-solving capability. Ability to analyze a process and recommend ways to improve quality, controls, and efficiency. Demonstrated effectiveness across all components within the Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery field. Education: Bachelor''s/University degree or a minimum of 7 years equivalent experience. Certification within the business continuity/disaster recovery/facility management/risk management industry is highly desirable (CFM, CBCI or CBCP are preferred).
