This position is for an Electro Optical Infrared (EOIR) Systems Engineer. The candidate selected for this position will perform duties as assigned as part of the Electro Optical Infrared Team. This is not a leader coded position but one that includes management of team software products. As an integral member of the EOIR team, the candidate will support working with LM product suppliers and LM teams to plan, develop, produce and sustain Electro Optical Subsystems (Hardware, Software and Firmware) on different aircraft. Team efforts include supporting full life cycle management (from initial design, through test, production and long-term maintenance) of Electro Optic Infrared sensor systems. As a member of the Electro Optic Infrared team, the selected candidate will support engineering activities associated with the development, maturation, sustainment, and update of EOIR solutions for the Lockheed Martin (LM) Aeronautics EOIR team. Responsibilities also include generating, reviewing, updating engineering documents and presentations, coordinating with the Principal Engineers and other key stakeholders, performing subcontract management of products, and interfacing/coordinating with various internal-to-LM and external-to-LM customers. The candidate will need to be able to employ their education and experience to successfully perform planning, integration, test, analysis, documentation, verification and maintenance of Electro Optic Infrared systems. The selected candidate will support preparing and giving briefings as required to customers, technical leads and/or Lockheed Martin management. The candidate must possess exceptional people skills and oral and written communication skills. The candidate must possess strong organizational, planning and collaboration skills including the ability to work multiple tasks simultaneously, ability to identify and resolve issues, and be able to work well in teams to meet or beat deadlines. Minimal travel may be required to Customer facilities and Lockheed Martin sites. The selected candidate must be a US citizen and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The selected candidate must have at a minimum a DoD Interim Secret prior to start of work, must maintain a DoD Secret clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a SAP/SAR clearance. A level 2 employee Typically has at least 2 years of professional experience.
