Overview Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924 CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Nebraska. At CHI Health Good Samaritan, you''ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility. The PCU at CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 49 bed unit. We specialize in intermediate care. Our pediatric care involves patients of all ages. All patients have additional monitoring via telemetry. We strive to provide a level of care and highly skilled nurses that allow our community and surrounding areas to receive health care close to home. Responsibilities As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient''s individual physician. This will involve, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits. Additional responsibilities for this health care role include: Monitoring patients'' conditions and assessing their needs Collaborating with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients Administering patients'' medications and providing treatments according to physicians'' orders Fostering a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state Graduate of an accredited nursing program Experience as a Registered Nurse preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) required Specialty certification (ex: CCRN, CNOR, CEN) preferred ACLS and PALS required within 5 months of hire
