We are looking to hire a key member of our Quality team at our Belpre, Ohio location.The Analytical Laboratory Technician is an important part of the team who will work a rotating shift schedule, within a lab setting of a manufacturing plant, and is responsible for sample analysis, data entry, equipment care, troubleshooting, communication, and housekeeping.Key Responsibilities* Analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished product samples from the plant.* Troubleshooting/calibrating certain equipment in the QC Lab.* Review of results to ensure they are reasonable prior to data entry, determining whether a retest is appropriate, or instrumentation requires attention.* Communication of results within the Quality Department and with other departments through data entry into various Sharepoint lists and our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).* Communication with Operations on quality matters.* Working with Quality Supervisor, Product Stewards, and Quality Manager to track, report, & improve key quality indicators for laboratory compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.* Reporting of instrumentation issues and remove faulty instruments from service until a disposition can be made on the instrument.* Participation in Gage R&R studies to identify training opportunities.* Interacting with the plant''s EHS Department to ensure the proper disposal of chemical waste and general compliance with applicable policies.* Ensuring laboratory area, instruments, and tools neat and orderly.* Determining proper testing techniques for non-routine and R&D samples through collaboration with Analytical Chemists and Management.* Driving the plant fire truck and completing associated training requirements.Required Skills* 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience; preference will be given to individuals with work experience in a QC chemical manufacturing setting or chemical plant operations experience.* Demonstration of ability to think critically.* Ability to accommodate schedule changes/flexibility.* Demonstration of good communication skills.* Ability to work in a team and individual environment.Education, Certifications & Licenses* Bachelor''s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology preferred.* High School diploma with the equivalent combination of advanced education and work experience required.* -------------------------------------------------The statements above are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this classification.
