Tomahawk Weapon Control Systems (TWCS) Test and Evaluation (T&E) Team Member The Tomahawk Weapon System (TWS) is a long-range cruise missile weapon system designed to launch Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles (TLAM) from submarines or surface ships to destroy, disable or damage enemy land targets. It provides capabilities in support of the joint force, maritime, strike and power projection missions of the United States Navy. The TWS is composed of three unique subsystems known as segments, which contribute to the Tomahawk weapons employment. These segments are: All Up Round (AUR), this includes the Tomahawk missile and its canister/capsuleTomahawk Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC, formerly TC2S), which includes the systems to plan and distribute missions, plan strikes and facilitate the operational command and control of the TWSTactical Tomahawk Weapon Control System (TTWCS), which is the shipboard system that finalizes the mission and prepares and launches the missile.On SSN platforms, TTWCS is a subsystem of the AN/BYG-1 Weapon Control System (WCS). The Tomahawk Weapon Control System (TTWCS) and the All Up Round (AUR) programs are developed by the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Program Executive Office for Unmanned Aviation and Strike Warfare (PEO (U&W)) Program Manager Air (PMA-280), the Theater Mission Planning Center System (TMPC) is developed by NAVAIR PEO(U&W) PMA-281 and AN/BYG-1 is developed by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Program Executive Officer, Submarines (PEO SUB) Program Manager Sea (PMS425). Duties: Engage in technical test planning, test preparation, test conduct, data analysis, test reporting, failure analysis and issue resolution of United States Submarine Tomahawk Weapon Control Systems. The majority of efforts are classified and are required to be performed in Government and Contractor laboratories and within shipboard environments both dockside and at-sea. More specifically will be responsible for performing Tactical Tomahawk Weapon Control System (TTWCS) and Tomahawk Command and Control System (TC2S) Development Testing, Integration Testing and Evaluation with Submarine Combat Systems; Tomahawk Weapon Compatibility Tests; Tomahawk and Submarine Combat System Dockside and At-sea alignment tests as well as Tomahawk Weapon System (TWS) failure analysis and issues resolutions. In support of these efforts, the applicant is recommended to have experience in operating Tomahawk Guidance Test Sets (GTS), Tactical Tomahawk Guidance Test Sets (TTGTS), Tomahawk External Data Extraction System (TEDES) and Multi-Tube Weapon Simulator (MTWS). Develop or revise Temporary Alteration Packages (TEMPALTs) for United States Navy Submarines, technical test plans, technical test reports, technical test results, technical papers and technical briefings. In addition, provide technical recommendations to United States Navy Submarine Force and Government and Contractor technical personnel and NUWCDIVNPT Management. The TWCS T&E Team Member is responsible for the following: Participates in planning and conducting land based, dockside, and at sea test events for Submarine Combat Systems, Virginia Class Submarine, and Submarine Tomahawk Weapon Control SystemsDevelops and provides reports on test conduct, data analysis, results, and recommendations to Participating Managers (PARMS) related to Test and Evaluation of Submarine Combat Systems and Submarine Tomahawk Weapon Control SystemsAbility to analyze and resolve integration & test issuesSupport Tomahawk program and Code 2513 participation in DIVNPT''s annual investment process by recommending areas of focus relevant to PEO (U&W) and TWCS future objectives and capabilities.Participates in working group meetings, Tomahawk Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings and various program review forumsDesired Skills: Must have a Secret Clearance or be able to be obtain one upon hiring.2 - 5 years of Submarine combat systems experience.Overall system technical knowledge of the Tomahawk Weapons Control System (TWCS), Tomahawk Missile Simulators, AN/BYG-1 Combat Systems, Global Command and Control System-Maritime (GCCS-M). Experience with Tomahawk interface specifications (JCM-1832)Experience, knowledge, and ability to repair/maintain various Tomahawk missile simulators (Tomahawk Guidance Test Set, Mk-101, Mk-112, Multi-Tube Weapons Simulator)Experience and ability to deal effectively with high ranking military and civilian personnel on technical matters. Capability to analyze and resolve complex technical and implementation issues.Tomahawk simulator electronics troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair experienceAbility to conduct Weapon and Submarine Combat System failure analysis investigations and issue resolutionAbility to develop United States Navy Submarine TEMPALT packages, test plans, test procedures, technical test reports and develop and provide technical briefings Work Location: Navy Undersea Warfare Center - Newport RI Required Travel: Yes. Up to 30% Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
