USPI Williamson Surgery Center is an Ambulatory Surgery Center in Round Rock, Texas and is looking for an experienced PAT/Pre-Op/PACU to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. We have 4 operating rooms offering a full range of surgical procedures including: Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Plastics/Reconstruction, ENT, Urology, Pain Management, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, and General Surgery.The preoperative area is the first transition in care for a surgical patient and should be considered a critical dimension of care. The nurse''s contributions to the surgical team in this role as trifold; the PAT/Pre-Op/PACU nurse will manage pre-admission duties, pre-op care and post-op care in an ambulatory setting. A distinct candidate understands their role in the preoperative assessment, transitioning effectively into preoperative care and acts as advocate who identifies the patient''s needs and risk factors that may be affected by the surgical experience post-operation.Job Summary:The Pre Admissions Nurse is responsible for the teamwork and coordination of nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data in determining nursing diagnosis, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members as appropriate. The Pre Admissions Nurse identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family.Pre-Op responsibilities included but are not limited to admitting the patient to the clinical area and providing nursing care to the preoperative patient, as well as, developing a nursing care plan specifically designed for the individual patient.Post-Operative Care Unit (PACU) responsibilities include are are not limited to patients entering the postoperative phase of treatment, responsible for assessing the patient''s condition and readiness for discharge.USP-123USP-RNLI-CM1Required Skills:Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited school of nursingCurrent Texas Nursing LicenseCurrent BLS, ACLS and PALSMinimum of 2 years'' experience in Pre-Op/PACU; Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.
