Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and general plant equipment or other tasks as assigned. Coordinate with other maintenance personnel and production crews as needed. Work on special projects with other mechanics and the Distribution Manager.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Mechanic IInspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines and heavy equipmentHandles routine repairs, including oil and tire changesInterprets diagnostic test results accuratelyWrites detailed inspection reports and repair plansCollaborates with other diesel mechanicsPresents reports and plans to clients for approvalAdvises clients on repair options and costsCompletes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctlyUses power, machine, and hand tools safelyFollows all motor vehicle repair shop safety standards and processesMechanic IIIDevelop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all ParkUSA-owned fleet and equipmentPerform routine maintenance and repairs on all ParkUSA fleet equipment and trucks independentlyDiagnose internal combustion engines, DC electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, and fuel systemsPerform major repairs to maintain fleet equipment using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments independentlyConduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements, and assorted servicesEnter and review work orders and complete part ordering via fleet management systemRecondition and replace assorted parts of the heavy equipmentDiagnoses problem areas for any significant wear or tear on the equipmentTake service calls when shop lead is absent and dispatch Field Service Mechanic to ensure repairs are completed in a timely and efficient fashionMaintain work area in a clean and organized mannerProduce timely and detailed service reports and repair logsFollow all company''s filed procedures and protocolsPerform additional duties as assignedInterprets diagnostic test results accuratelyCompletes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctlyUses power, machine, and hand tools safelyFollows all motor vehicle repair shop safety standards and processesKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:Mechanic IMust be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written, and have basic communication skills; interpersonal, written, and verbal, for dealing with all levels and associates, and reading instruction and parts manuals.Must have a basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, or electronics.Must have basic computer skills.Must be able to complete tasks without supervisionMust be able to operate the following tools and equipment:Hand tools Mobile and stationary equipment in the plant.Mechanic IIIAbility to lift 50+ poundsAbility to drive/operate multiple types of vehicles and equipmentInterpersonal skills to communicate effectively and efficientlyAbility to follow up with customers in a timely mannerUnderstanding the importance of time managementAbility to handle assorted tools properly and safelyAttention to detailSolid and proven computer skill set to enter work ordersWorks and communicates effectively with all levels of the companyMust possess solid written and verbal communication skills and be able to perform basic computer operations such as opening and closing work ordersWorks and communicates effectively with all employees of the branchEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Mechanic IHigh school diploma or equivalent required, additional technical education and/or training is preferred.1 - 3 years of Production Manufacturing maintenance support is preferred.
