A selected patient population is the focus of practice. Population may be further defined according to age group: psychological, social, cultural, biophysical systems; or patient status on health-illness continuum. Position is based on needs of patient and healthcare system. Scope of practice encompasses use of nursing process in major areas: practice, education, consultation, research and administration. This position is accountable for promoting excellence in clinical nursing practice. The incumbent is responsible for knowledge driven outcomes management, advance clinical practice, education to staff, patient, family and community.
