Our employees are not only part of history, they''re making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is hiring Tooling Engineers to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in rural Iuka, MS. The assignment may include one or more projects including hand layup, fiber placement, assembly, machining, painting, and structural testing of composite parts. Iuka currently produces structures for Atlas and Antares rockets, F-35 fighter jets, and other high end related parts. Some of our work requires Secret Clearance. Our Iuka facility employs about 200 people across Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Support Services. The work we do impacts our national security and supports human space exploration. Come join us and be a part of a rich tradition of aerospace innovation!Responsibilities include the following:Manage projects and coordinate all procurement and fabrication to meet the program cost and schedule requirementsInspect fabricated support hardware to assure compliance to designWork alongside the manufacturing team to ensure overall program quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achievedDevelop/create/review tooling concepts to improve manufacturing processesDevelop 3D tooling designs and drawings for production of composite/aerospace structuresInspect tool configuration for drawing compliance, including fit, form and functionEvaluate vendor and equipment capability and ability to perform required tasks to include production of tooling as well as unique aerospace part production.Our teams are broken out by program and product families. You will be working within your team to meet our customer needs and deliver quality products in a timely manner. Ownership and pride in work are really important to our employees. Note: an additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Ability to read engineering drawings and specificationsKnowledge of process engineering or manufacturing engineeringExperience with closed form and FE analysis practices; Prefer NX and ANSYS software systems.Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)NX, Catia or other 3D modeling experienceAbility to obtain a Secret clearance and Special Program AccessSr. PrincipalBachelors and 9+ years of engineering work experience, or a Masters degree and 7+ years of engineering work experience. Note: an additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Ability to read engineering drawings and specificationsKnowledge of process engineering or manufacturing engineeringExperience with closed form and FE analysis practices; Prefer NX and ANSYS software systems.Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)NX, Catia or other 3D modeling experienceAbility to obtain a Secret clearance and Special Program AccessPreferred Qualifications:Experience with composite manufacturing techniques & processesExperience with tool design and analysisExperience with managing projects and suppliers for tool manufacturing & deliveryKnowledge of continuous improvement (lean/6-sigma training/certification)Salary Range: $75,400 USD - $113,200 USDSalary Range 2: $93,500 USD - $140,300 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
