Apply today!The Director of Nursing (DON) is an essential senior leadership position working closely with the Administrator and Medical Director to ensure the highest practicable quality of care for Skilled Nursing Patients and Long-Term care residents. This position directs and oversees the clinical nursing team for three units, one of which is our cutting edge 20 bed Medical Specialty Unit that will be re-opening! This unit will be a very active short term skilled nursing and rehab unit, where clinically complex patients will typically discharge to home. In addition, the DON oversees the Nursing Care teams for two long term care units of 44 and 48 residents.The Director of Nursing must be comfortable with the following:• CMS and NH State Long Term Care regulations• Interviewing, training, and orienting Unit Managers as well as LNA, LPN and RNs in partnership with the Staff Development/Infection Control Practitioner.• Inspiring staff development and supporting performance management.• Partnering with the Admission Director on admissions decisions as needed to ensure clinical capacity and census balance.• Working with patients, residents, and loved ones to ensure the best possible experience for care.• Acting as the liaison for our electronic medical record partner, and pharmacy partner.• Performing or overseeing clinical audits for compliance with policy and procedures, CMS standards, and clinical best practice.• Participating in the overall leadership and quality initiatives.
