Position Title:Lead Commodity SpecialistPosition Summary:The Lead Commodity Specialist is responsible for select commodity management/spend as well as leading specific projects and RFx/sourcing events as assigned. Commodities of focus will be Raw Materials, however projects could include indirect material and transportation services. The Lead Commodity Specialist will be responsible for supplier relationship management for select commodities, negotiation as well as execution. KPI''s will include spend under management, automation, productivity, pay terms, as well as internal service levels. Financially, this role is anticipated to have direct spend management up to $30M in total spend.Specialist is responsible to execute procurement plans, develop procurement strategies, and to integrate and align with Strategic Sourcing initiatives. The Lead Commodity Specialist will report into the Raw Materials Leader - NAM.Job Description:Manage the procurement of specified materials, goods, and services and maintain contract details in SAP and/or system of record, including pricing, validity dates, preferred supplier and source lists, catalogs, and/or outline agreements.Responsible for all spot purchasing activities and developing/executing commodity strategies as assigned.Support and drive continuous process improvement/standardization in procurement processes and managed spend and commodities.Manage appropriate purchasing control functions and support global procedure development.Collaborate with internal partners to accomplish procurement-specific projects/tasks by forming effective relationships, internally and externally.Understand market dynamics and be able to translate these into value-added agreements with selected suppliers and communicate value to internal Business Leaders and functional stakeholders.Understand market dynamics, develop strong relationships with key suppliers, and effectively manage sub-regional spend.Negotiation preparations and execution.Own key supplier/vendor relationships and strategic sourcing initiatives for material and service requirements.Responsible for assigned purchasing activities, including catalogues, outline agreements, contract maintenance, pending commodity.Exposure to ISO Quality procurement practices.Additional Details:Minimum Qualifications5 years Procurement or Supply Chain, with negotiation experienceStrong analytical skills, familiarity with MRP and complex data analyzingExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholdersStrong negotiation, decision and influencing skillsHighly motivated and energeticAbility to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyPreferred QualificationsBachelor''s DegreeExperience in Indirect purchasing and sourcing activities, or related supply chain/operations experienceStrong analytical skills, familiarity with MRP and/or Purchasing processes, and data analysisExperience with SAP or similar ERP systemLI-NG1PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
