The Analysis Innovation Department within MITRE''s Intelligence Center researches, architects, designs and prototypes advanced analytic capabilities to empower the all source analyst and inform the technical direction of new and existing programs. We manage, guide and direct 29 staff-years of technical and domain-specific work. The Department oversees development of advanced analytic solutions to address intelligence analysts needs in answering critical intelligence needs. This work requires a comprehensive understanding of technology areas needed to advance IC analysts'' capabilities, and the ability to identify, define and prototype solutions relevant to members of the IC and their partners. Group Leaders serve as direct supervisors for assigned department staff and work in partnership with the department leadership team to guide department direction, shape our work program, and grow/develop the workforce. GLs balance department management and leadership roles with other work program commitments as assigned. Job Responsibilities : Qualified candidates will have a strong background in the Intelligence Community and/or Department of Defense and the ability to lead a highly qualified team skilled in Software Engineering, Data Science and Analysis. Responsibilities include: * First Line Supervisor - focused on management and development of a group of 6-10 staff* Department and Staff Engagement - Serve as direct supervisor for assigned staff providing technical support, conduct regular performance and development conversations; serve as a technical mentor, recognize and advocate for staff; communicate with Project/Task Leaders on staff performance; assesses staff performance and provides constructive feedback to staff* Technical Quality, Execution and Capability Development - Assist the Department leadership team in workforce shaping, training, hiring, work program development, maintaining awareness of emerging technical issues and opportunities; and fulfill other Department and Division management duties as assigned* Collaboration and Communication - Support regular communication between staff and Project/Task Leaders, seek collaboration opportunities across projects and portfolios, and facilitate open sharing of program and/or technical area knowledge with other managers and staff* Individual Contributor - Actively contribute to a work program in the Intelligence Center Required Qualifications : * A Bachelor''s Degree in a technical field relevant to national-security* An active Top Secret clearance* Knowledge of the Intelligence Community and/or Department of Defense, modernizing defense analysis, and intelligence policy and strategy* Knowledge of MITRE''s organizational structure, work programs, and efforts relevant to the Intelligence Center* Experience identifying, defining, developing and transitioning Data Science and Analytic capability* Excellent communication and writing skills, including demonstrated ability to articulate complex topics to sponsors and staff PreferredQualifications : * An active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph* Detailed understanding of the IC''s Intelligence analytical domain* Expertise defining, developing, and scaling solutions that include data science, automation, machine learning* Proven track record in work shaping to meet sponsor needs* Proven track record of partnering with external organizations, including with the government, academia and industry to ensure capabilities and platforms are strategically leveraged in the execution of programs* Experience in shaping the workforce and skill mix to develop the capabilities of the staff, to include high quality hires capable of work program impact and growth* Demonstrated ability to work well in collaborative and dynamic environments that foster innovation in areas that provide enhanced capabilities to MITRE''s sponsors and that result in significant operational benefit to the Nation.
