Position Overview Avantus Federal is seeking TARS experienced ILS Sustainment Engineer to support the DHS Customs & Border Protection Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) program. The TARS program leverages aerostat systems to provide persistent surveillance, detection capabilities, to our U.S. Government customer. We have several opportunities providing Operations and Sustainment (O&S) support for TARS along the US Southern border in multiple locations including Puerto Rico, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Responsibilities The ideal candidate will have TARS , TASS, or PSS-T program related experience , with specific experience performing the following * D evelops and administers integrated logistics strategies, including supply chain activities from point of manufacture through information management support, deployment freight, warehousing, customer freight, order management, customer warehousing, customer store shipment, and customer placement. * Supports logistics planning including the identification of logistics resources and capabilities, and organizational logistics needs. * Develops logistics plans and alternatives for logistics support. Executes a continuous improvement methodology of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions. * Integrates learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve quality of services delivered. * Assess and document engineering change impacts on ILS products, perform research, consult with engineering and suppliers, and document findings. * Analyze s technical and obsolescence data such as Bill of Material (BOM) and other industry reports, as well as inventory management and coordination, to identify potential impacts to a program. * Perform s Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) analysis methods, including reliability predictions and allocations, mission reliability analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, maintainability predictions (mean time to repair, crew size), maintenance task analysis. Develop and maintain program R&M Analytical processes. Establish ILS technical performance measures (TPMs). Coordinate and support internal ILS technical reviews. Develops and maintains system reliability and availability models. * Develop DMSMS process plan and coordinate DMSMS mitigations in support of program sustainment needs. Manage Risks and Opportunities associated with DMSMS activities. * Coordinate with varying System Engineering and Integration (SEI) team and customer groups (SW Engineering, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, PMO, etc.) * Perform Root Cause Analyses and provide corrective actions. * Asset management tracking to include Government Furnished Property, other materials, and license tracking. Required Qualifications * BS/BA in relevant field of study required. Additional experience can supersede degree requirement . * 6 years '' experience in the areas of ILS management and administration in accordance with US government requirements. * Experience in representing Integrated Logistics Support and sustainment program strategies and concepts to include the 12 elements of ILS with key competencies in Product support, maintenance planning and management, Supply support, Training, and PHST. * Successfully completed Background Investigation with a Favorable Suitability Determination , and issuance of DHS Suitability determination . * Ability to obtain Secret clearance.
