This position is for a Mechanical Design Engineer who will join the Mechanical Installation Design team that is part of the Owego Installation Engineering organization. This team focuses on the engineering design required to support the installation of avionics & system installations on both Fixed Wing & Rotary Wing platforms and reports up through the Sikorsky Aircraft Design COE. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, job duties will focus on the model-based development of installation layouts, assembly, & detail design of operator consoles, mission equipment racks, avionics & antenna installations, airframe modifications, cockpit modernization, and onsite field installation support. Additional design efforts will focus on 2D drafting, 3D cable routing, Bill of Material management, and all associated engineering documentation releases. With the strong focus on model-based design, additional efforts will support the transition from 2D Drawings to a fully model centric environment. An induvial with a strong desire to grow in the CAD modeling environment and be a focal point driving the digital thread through requirements generation, model development, FE Analysis, and production is highly preferred.
