OverviewThe Registered Nurse provides nursing care to individuals and groups which require specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing sciences. The individual must be committed to providing patients and families with a positive experience through compassionate care and excellent service, safely and efficiently. This individual will display professionalism at all times and maintain patient confidentiality. AccountabilitiesMust be able to move about hospital and between workstations, and perform with a high degree of mechanical aptitude and accuracy, with particular attention to detail. Must be able to input and retrieve computer information. Performs cleaning, disinfection, decontamination, assembly, and pretesting of Respiratory Care Critical Care Mechanical Ventilators and other equipment in accordance with Department and Hospital policies and procedures. Delivers supplies and equipment to patient care areas, as needed. Enters supply and equipment orders, as needed, to ensure proper par levels of Respiratory Care equipment, including gas cylinders, supplies, and miscellaneous department essentials. Reports any needs to department Leadership. Maintains the cleanliness and organization of all non-patient care areas in the Respiratory Care equipment and supply spaces. Participates in performance improvement initiatives, as needed, and collaborates with other disciplines to enhance patient and employee safety.Actively participates in the orientation of new staff and contributes to the growth of others, as needed.Understands and acts in accordance with all Respiratory Care and Hospitals policies and procedures for those areas of responsibility and is able to independently function in those areas.Performs other related duties, as assigned or requested by Leadership within the scope of training and practice. Education: High school diploma or equivalentSkills:Have excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills.Be able to communicate and interact effectively and collaboratively with a variety of professionals, including physicians, nurses, care navigators and administrators, to promote a seamless patient care continuum. Preferred QualificationsSkills: Mechanical aptitudeYears of Experience: Health care related experienceCertification: BLSWorking ConditionsPersonal Protective Equipment: Tolerate exposure to infectious diseases and follow infection prevention and control strategies.Physical Demands:Be able to move about hospital and between workstations, efficiently and effectively. Must be able to occasionally and with assistance move heavy weight materials equipment, or patients.
