Find your future with us.The Boeing Space & Launch Division''s Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) team is looking for a Lead Space Ground System Software Developer in Colorado Springs, CO.The Global Satellite Configuration and Control Element (GSCCE) team focuses on the development of new global military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) ground system upgrades that will support the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) F11 satellite. In addition, the Space and Launch team builds the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements, design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments. The successful team member will drive the daily execution of product development in a fast-paced agile environment. We seek teammates who have skills in agile methodologies, software development, test automation, and system automation.As a member of the WGS-11 team, you will be involved in the entire software development life cycle, from idea creation and development, all the way through to maintenance and support of the customer''s delivered system. These positions will place you in roles where you have the opportunity to make an impact on the results of our project. The WGS-11 team offers a collaborative mentoring environment where you have the opportunity to learn from or lead others.Position Responsibilities:Apply Java, JavaScript, Python, and Angular software languages to develop satellite ground control systems.Use Kubernetes, Docker, and Rancher RKE.Apply microservice containerized software architecture.Agile Development within a cross-discipline team.Continuous integration, testing, and delivery within a CI/CD pipeline.Decompose complex requirements and capabilities into executable discrete user stories.This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.Security Clearance and Investigation"ā¹:This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree.7 or more years of experience in software engineering.5 or more years of experience coding in either Java, JavaScript, C++, and/or C.Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills/Experience):Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.Experience working in an Agile software development environment using Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) or similar tools.Experience using microservices in Java Spring Framework.Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years'' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years'' related work experience, Master+7 years'' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
