Senior Biostatistician, Remote SUMMARY The Senior Biostatistician will assist FEMA Medical Branch Washington, DC with compiling research information and reports for Occupational Workforce health. * The data analyst shall assist relative to activities that arise within DHS authority, including, but not limited to, research, analysis, and/or development of system-wide standards, policies, procedures, training, provide advocacy, program oversight, and policy for prevention, intervention and postvention efforts to help employees, their families. They achieve this by integrating a holistic approach, by using a range of medical and non-medical resources, and through a collaborative approach with other Governmental Agencies, Non-Governmental Agencies, non-profit organizations, and the community to develop policies * The contractor shall focus on providing high level expertise in applicable public health disciplines to collect, abstract, code, analyze, or interpret scientific data contained within information systems and databases related to public health for current work with the Department of Homeland Security. The contractor shall assist in developing and applying analytic methodologies and principles, leading the application of analytic techniques, and helping to define project objectives and strategic direction: * The contractor shall analyze and reports on surveillance data and survey findings using advanced analytical tests and statistical software tool. * The contractor shall interpret results using a public health approach. * The contractor shall assist in oversees database management to include managing large data files; and produce computerized reports; prepare written reports and proposals. * The contractor shall identify and analyzes public health issues and their impact on DHS policies or epidemiological studies or surveys. * The contractor shall evaluate data collection, quality control, and data utilization methods used to study workforce health and safety problems and issues * The contractor shall assist in providing data management, reporting and analysis support to study investigation methodology using statistical software tools such as SPSS, SAS, and other statistical packages and tools (such as Excel, Tableau, and Python) as well as the Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint) as well as the Power Apps Suite (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) and R. * The contractor shall assist with managing/merging data from multiple sources, examine data for trends, and generate reports in various formats. * Assist with obtaining, managing, and analyzing monthly data * The contractor shall review project reports and findings. Review applications, data sets and models for anomalies to ensure accuracy. * The contractor shall assist with the interpretation and display of data in a clear and concise manner. * The contractor shall interpret the results of quantitative and qualitative analysis to improve the effectiveness of the programmatic and administrative operations. SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY * This position will not have supervisory or management authority EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE * Requires a minimum of a bachelor''s degree in a related field and a minimum of 4 years of related experience. * Applicant must have strong background in research data analysis and analytics with education and experience reflective of the position needs. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Strong organizational skills * Strong ability to prepare analysis reports and communications * The ability to effectively use Power Point, Excel, Word, Access, Outlook * Experience with providing data management, reporting and analysis support to study investigation methodology using statistical software tools such as SPSS, SAS, and other statistical packages and tools (such as Excel, Tableau, and Python) * Experience with database management to include managing large data files; and produce computerized reports; prepare written reports and proposals. * Ability to evaluate data collection, quality control, and data utilization methods used to study workforce health and safety problems and issues. * Ability to interpret the results of quantitative and qualitative analysis * Ability to learn computer technologies that often change Share Point, DAXS ETC. * Some experience with Cost Benefit Analysist * Ability to successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen * Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently blocked from enforcement pending court proceedings. Therefore, Cherokee Federal is halting the application of the mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted, Cherokee Federal will restore administration of the vaccine requirement. * Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background investigation WORK ENVIRONMENT * Remote Location/No relocation expenses will be authorized. * Work will be primarily performed in a climate controlled office environment * Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors.
