The Advanced Phenomenologies Office employs novel methods and efficient strategies to drive development and delivery of improved spatially, spectrally, and temporally resolved data from a growing number of traditional and non-traditional sources which include sensors, platforms, collection systems, and their supporting systems and functions. Advanced phenomenologies includes support to the specific technology areas of collection optimization, novel source exploitation and optimization, space situational awareness (SSA), hypersonics, space, imagery, imagery intelligence, and geospatial information. The Radar, Space, and Spectral Pods most directly align to this technical domain but are joined in their need for technical support in this area by additional pods and programs across Research. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a high-profile, fast-paced environment. Qualifications The Space Pod advances the understanding of foreign capabilities from launch to space operations and increases the resilience of domestic GEOINT space assets. Your role and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: * Review/assess existing and state of the art space components, subsystems, systems, and architectures* Propose new technologies and concepts, and review/assess new technologies as they are integrated* Know how to use, and use as part of its analysis support the Systems Tool Kit (formerly known as Satellite Took Kit) (STK) from Analytic Graphics Inc., and other similar tools to conduct earth-centric, cis-lunar, lunar, and planetary orbital analysis for individual space platforms and constellations that can include thousands of space platforms such as satellites and space stations* Provide technical expertise to develop modeling and simulation capabilities and to support and improve collection, analysis, processing, data fusion, exploitation, and dissemination of GEOINT collectionRequired skills: * Experience in Astrodynamics* Knowledge and Education in the designs, development, and testing of structures and systems for aircraft, missiles, or spacecraft* Advanced knowledge of foreign capabilities* Analyzes aerospace product or equipment specifications and performance requirements* Reviews/assess new technologies for application in improving design of aerospace systems* Experience in modeling, mathematics, Matlab, Python, and STK.Education Minimum Requirements: * 10 years of relevant experience and a BA/BS degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Astrophysics* OR in place of 10 years relevant experience, an MA/MS degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Astrophysics and 8 years relevant experience* OR a PhD degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Astrophysics and 5 years relevant experienceClearance: * You must possess a current Top-Secret Personnel Security Clearance and be eligible for favorable NGA adjudication for SCI access* You may also be subject to a Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph, as requested by the GovernmentLocation/Travel Requirements: * You may be required to travel from Denver to other NGA locations, other US Government locations, and Contractor facilities, as well as NGA partner sites worldwide in support of NGA activitiesLI-JW1 MTSIjobs mtsi
