Employment Type:Part timeShift:Rotating ShiftDescription:Trinity Health Mid Atlantic (St. Mary Physician''s Group) is looking for a per diemPhysician Assistant with our Cardiothoracic Vascular Group in Langhorne, PA. Must have Operating Room experience in CT Surgery Carries out Physician Assistant duties as defined by the Cardiothoracic Surgeon(s) The PA works under the supervision of the Cardiothoracic Surgeon in the operating room, office and hospital setting(s) (nursing units. Scrubs in on cardiac, thoracic, and vascular OR cases as assigned/needed and demonstrates a proactive approach in preparation for each procedure Functions as a first assistant in surgery when assigned by providing adequate assistance, anticipating and showing initiative and surgical skill Able to provide and demonstrate complex surgical skills when assisting in surgery, i.e. harvesting of vein grafts Initiates or assists in rendering emergency care or other appropriate first aid in life threatening situations. Provides cardiothoracic and vascular consultative services in the hospital to patients as requested by physicians Rounds on patients regularly Performs discharge planning function and discharges patients under the direction and supervision of a Cardiothoracic/vascular Surgeons Active participation in patient safety measures such as site identification and time-out and protects the patients right to privacy at all times. Assist physicians with call as needed Respond to all patient messages within 24 hours and patient med refills within 48 hours. Completes all documentation requirements according to policy Requirements: Bachelor''s Degree Required Master''s Degree Preferred 2-4 Years of Experience Required 5-8 Years of Experience Preferred Active PA Physician Assistant License Required BLS cert Required ACLS Required Must be credentialed through med staff.
