Overview As a DevSecOps Platform Engineer, you will work with our growing DevSecOps practices delivering cutting edge mission enablement apps. We are looking for established experience with cloud platform services, DevOps practices such as build/release management, secure SDLC/DevSecOps practices such as automating security processes in CI/CD pipeline, and general automation. You will help to design, implement, and support cloud solutions and processes leveraged by large number of applications hosted in our environments. Expectations include: Help to build our DevSecOps Strategy and Practice to integrate cybersecurity into the organizational adoption and improvement of agile practices.Partner with other technical leads to create, implement and apply DevSecOps principles, processes and culture that are consumed by delivery teams across our company.Provide subject matter expertise in various risk assessments, working in an Agile environment with an understanding of the full software development lifecycle.Advocate for software engineering practices such as unit testing, code reviews, full build testing, quality engineering practices and requirements capturing techniques to the teams to improve end to end secure delivery practices.Advocate for and ensure appropriate security practices are communicated and implemented within their projects.Partner with development and operations teams to facilitate practical automation solutions and custom modules. Troubleshoot automation issues and when required, engage the resources to find practical solutions that move projects forward in a timely manner.Be a trusted automation and tooling advisor for DevSecOps initiatives by providing objective, practical and relevant ideas, insights and advice.Assist application teams with on-boarding to the adopted security tools/technologies; working with vendors to troubleshoot the platform and issues related to such integrations.Deliver tasks based on project objectives; technically support projects through to completion.Ensure deliverables are completed within target timeframes and are consistently of high-quality, documented and support transition of operational activities.Work with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and tools.Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services providedPresent regular status updates and provide cross training to other DevOps team members.Be active in evaluating and recommending new technologies to our DevSecOps and Salesforce Practice. Contributions Lead a small team responsible for the maintenace and modernization of DevSecOps tools and infrastructure that support hundreds of development teams. Plan, lead, and actively execute technology roadmap for all DevSecOps tools and capabilities. Maintain and operate current DevSecOps applications and functionality, while designing and executing a robust modernization plan. Work actively with customer Technical Leads and stakeholders across various technology areas to continuously improve CI/CD capabilities, automation, testing and verification, product integration, and migration of systems to Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). Must also maintain and troubleshoot current DevSecOps tools and services - ensuring full functionality for hundreds of development teams. Typical maintenance includes application upgrades (automating using tools such as Ansible, when possible), PKI certificate renewals, automating server maintenance (Windows and RHEL), and implementation of vendor-recommended configuration and/or security updates. Current toolset includes: Gitlab (CI/CD), Harness, Jenkins CloudBees, Jenkins Community, NexusIQ (Firewall / LifeCycle), Nexus Repository Pro 3, SonarQube, and SCM Manager (Subversion). Must be very comfortable and proficient working in Amazon Web Services (AWS) in particular, as applications and services are currently being migrated to, and supported in, AWS - including containerization (docker, kubernetes, podman). AWS experience must include EC2, RDS, and S3, as well as application and network load balancers. Increase automation capabilities using CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible or similar tools and services. Collaborate with other Steampunk team technical leaders to advise the customer on technical architecture and infrastructure decisions. Must have experience acting as technical liaison for customers as well as internal technical teams. Must be able to manage (small) technical teams - including mentoring, tasking, planning, and quality assurance of activities and deliverables. Must be a leader in the use and enforcement of Agile principals for technical team. Qualifications Must have Master''s Degree (M.S.) preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Cyber Security, or related field. Must have at least 12 years of technical experience in Information Technology. Preferred experience includes server and application administration, and application development using Agile and DevSecOps methodologies, processes, tools, and infrastructure. Must have an active digital platform or cloud service provider certification (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google, Salesforce, etc.). Ideal candidate should have direct administrative and end-user experience for the current toolset identified in Contributions, above and be very comfortable with the use, administration, maintenance, and modernization of these, and similar, tools. Must have experience with open technologies, DevSecOps, and related Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, Git, and others. Must be able to obtain US Government clearance (Public Trust).
