Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Database Application Programmer SME. Primary responsibility is to provide primary Database Application Programmer support by maintaining and updating computer programs and databases in support of the government program offices. This role shall advise and support work that involves the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing applications software; as well as, actually developing database applications for Division requirements while supporting the Engineering, Professional, and Administrative Support Services (EPASS) Contract at Peterson AFB, in Colorado Springs, CO supporting the Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division (HBQ) Program. Their mission is to develop and sustain Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Space Situational Awareness and Command and Control capabilities for the United States Air Force and Space Force. Duties include, but not limited to: The functions required to be performed by individuals assigned to this specialty may include an emphasis on MS Access, Visual Basic, SQL, and the manipulation of Microsoft Office products to extract information. Daily tasks can include database management, troubleshooting, and developing new systems to improve data analysis. Designs our databases, manages the SQL Server, manages the information on the server, moves it, transforms it, migrates it, constructs queries, builds reports, etc. Area of important would be the following; C, ASP.NET MVC and Core, Entity Framework, Dependency Injection, Razor & CSHTML Views, HTML, CSS & Bootstrap , JavaScript & JQuery, SQL Server, IIS, Windows Server, Services and Forms Applications, Active Directory.Supporting government-led acquisition and program management efforts for ongoing and future sustainment, modification and capability upgrade efforts across the Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems.As needed, perform database programming for new and existing systemsAs needed, write scripts, stored procedures and functions for database systemEffectively communicate verbally and in written communicationsPerform quality assurance tests for ensuring data integrity and qualityResolve database problems, queries and error reports in accurate and timely mannerInteract with business teams to understand project requirementsAnalyzing and refining systems requirementsTranslating systems requirements into applications prototypes and final productsSoftware systems architectureDetermining and designing applications architectureDetermining output media/formatsDesigning user interfacesAssuring software and systems quality and functionalityIntegrating hardware and software componentsEvaluating new applications software technologies; and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/ cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices to the delivery of application software servicesApplication development and sustainment/supportCoordinate with team members to perform database programming based on project requirementsAssist in planning and implementing the data integration and data migration activitiesProvide valid inputs in database architectural discussionsAssist in identifying process improvements for database performance, reliability and stabilityRecommend viable solutions to problems and the pursuit of alternative courses of actions when troubleshooting complex database issues in a timely fashionProvide programmatic guidance and support to team members when neededAdvise and assist the Government Program Manager on project updates and metrics on regular basisAssist in preparing database functional and design specificationsTest database systems and perform bug fixesMaintain accurate and complete database programming documentationUS CitizenshipRequired Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Valid DOD Secret clearanceRequired Education: High School Diploma 8 years of directly related experience with practical experience to execute responsibilities as described in the above job description OR,Bachelors degree: 4 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed.Possess at least two years experience at DoD levelDemonstrate advanced knowledge of their technical/professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures and practices in Database Application Programming.Must have experience with MS Access, Visual Basic, SQL, C, ASP.NET MVC and Core, Entity FrameworkAbility to travel up to 10% as neededPreferred Qualifications:Possesses the advanced knowledge, experience and recognized ability to be considered an expert in Database Application ProgrammingLI-JH1Odyssey Systems Consulting Group, is an innovative small business committed to providing world-class technical, management, and training support services to government and public sector clients.
