This role will work closely with the National Institute of Health to provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the lab, and manage orders, recruitments, and travel requests. General Information Job Code: ADF-LT-03 Location: NIH - Campuses Employee Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time Regular Telework: None Clearance: Public Trust Number of Openings: 1 Salary Range: $44,000 - $51,500 (how we pay and promote) Responsibilities Evaluate new types of experimental approaches/analyses and recommend changes to protocols Demonstrate effective leadership by planning, delegating, empowering, and leading staff adequately Engage in problem-solving as required to solve technical difficulties and to ensure steady progress Assist with the implementation of best practices in the laboratory to increase operational efficiency and ensure data quality meets or exceeds industry requirements Instruct new employees on how to use, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment. Maintain and update lab notes and databases, as well as enter experimental data into spreadsheets and perform statistical analysis Knowledge of the care and handeling of laboratory animals Ensure that there is an appropriate supply of clean merchandise ready for immediate use Understanding of proper laboratory waste disposal methods and processes Collect and track data for essential laboratory metrics RequirementsMinimum Education and Experience Bachelor''s Degree in related field 1 year of specialized experience Basic Requirements Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook Ability to read and interpret documentation such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety standards, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Excellent time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects at once and allocate the necessary resources Demonstrates the ability to be organized, detail-oriented, and work with minimal supervision. Experience as a scientific writer or experience writing abstracts and manuscripts Skills That Set You Apart Ability to articulate data outcomes to personnel in both formal and informal circumstances through written, tabular, and graphic form Analyze and interpret experimental data to generate findings summaries and reports Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) certification preferred Certification Clinical Laboratory (CAP) Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) If you don''t have all of the skills above, don''t be discouraged-no resume paints a complete picture of a person.
