Hazmat Tech II

POSITION OVERVIEW To be able to work on all aspects of projects in a supporting role as a seasoned and experienced Hazardous materials Technician. Tasks would include, but not limited to; basic incidental spill response, remediation, tank removal, tank cleanings, general industrial cleaning, pressure washing, drum moving, and transportation of hazardous materials and waste. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS (All Hazmat Tech I Duties and responsibilities, in addition to the following) • Must be able to legally transport hazardous materials and waste from customer sites or emergency response clean-up generated waste streams • Must be able to understand hazardous materials rule (HMR) FOR MANIFEST COMPLETION PER 49 CFR • On-call 2/7 for emergency response based on schedule assignment • Responsible for the completion of all job-specific, employee related KVAC paperwork including Timesheets, Daily Work Orders, Driver''s Logs and Daily Tailgate Safety Meeting Forms if Required • Ability to perform simple job walks • Must have knowledge and experience in sampling, field testing, segregating and packing • Ability to operate response equipment (including monitoring specialized field testing, power, and health and safety equipment and perform routine maintenance on response equipment • Knowledge of Lockout /Tagout Protocols • Certified and trained in use of respirators, APR and SCBA as required by work zone air monitoring
