Engineering New Capabilities for Mission SuccessAbout the PositionPosition DescriptionAre you looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the government space? That''s why we need you, an experienced Systems Engineer, to help us evaluate and guide system architectures leveraging Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) as they evolve to commercial trends like Agile development, Cloud migration, and streamlined DevOps deployments. This is an opportunity to build your experience using the latest open source tools, trends, and techniques on technical issues supporting the mission of our Intelligence Community Customer. Our Chief Architect team is responsible for coordinating and supporting ground requirements, CONOPS, and architectures in the remote sensing domain; supporting enterprise and system level requirements for future systems; overseeing the allocation and closure of acquisition-level requirements with developers; independent verification, validation and test in support of delivered system capabilities and mission closure, participation in readiness events in support of enterprise, system and acquisition-level ground milestones; leading and supporting project planning; assessing schedule and risk; generating and presenting engineering briefings; and interfacing with numerous customers. Responsibilities:The individual will provide Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) support implementing MBSE principles for system requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation activities beginning with the conceptual design, continuing throughout the development and life-cycle of the project. This includes helping to champion the transition and implementation of MBSE processes and standards across a large ground enterprise organization and evaluating tools for inclusion in the MBSE framework. The individual will facilitate Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Engineering working groups and brown bags that will promote, review and assess the maturity of engineering Artifacts, CONOPS, Interfaces, and Architecture products within the MBSE framework. This position also provides project management overseeing a multi-organizational software development effort for the organizations modeling and simulation SimOps project. This requires collaboration with other engineers to develop end-to-end models of complex systems to include architecture and behavior of the system using Systems Modeling Language (SysML). The candidate will provide subject matter expertise and MBSE best practices to teams coordinating conops and architecture products, establishing and translating requirements into features, assessing system and segment schedule and risks, leading readiness and release planning events in support of system and acquisition-level ground milestones, and supporting agile test and devops verification strategies and integration of new systems and initiatives in support of expanded GEOINT or SIGINT mission capabilities. The selected candidate will have the aptitude to assess MBSE and SE processes and create efficiencies continuously, and may lead projects for systems team work, have frequent client interactions, and support system and mission strategy development across the various ground offices. The candidate will have daily interaction with the customer and supporting contractors, and will need to follow customer standards and processes as the program matures through the life cycle. Candidate will interact with multiple Acquisition Offices (AOs) and facilitate risk and action closure with Acquisition Offices and users, and support technical consultation, meeting coordination, and support to recommendation briefings.About the Must HavesThis position requires an understanding of the intelligence community and customer domain, along with a strong focus on core systems engineering processes in support of end-to-end mission and services closureRequires 12 to 15 years with BS/BA or 10 to 13 years with MS/MA or 7 to 9 years with Ph.D. Knowledge of remote sensing systems and overall space and ground architecture experience with space/ground aerospace systems engineering/architectingClearance required TS/SCI and Poly eligibleExperience in supporting Requirements Engineering, Conops development, and system integration within MBSE construct to accommodate End to End Systems EngineeringKnowledge of, and experience defining and executing, MBSE standards and practicesHands-on experience of developing system models in SysML with a recognized MBSE tool, preferably CAMEO.Ability to translate DoDAF artifacts into MBSE artifactsAdaptability to define and sustain MBSE principles, processes and standards within an agile development frameworkProject management experience for multi-organizational developmentIntegration and closure experience within overall customer domainDetailed knowledge of customer''s mission capabilities (to include GEOINT, SIGINT and Multi-INT domains) and overall space and ground architectureExpertise in mission technical capabilities and system performance analysis and assessmentExperience identifying user needs and gaps, identifying potential solutions, and assessing/analyzing alternativesExcellent oral and written communications skillsCommitment to recognize, understand, respect and operate effectively within various SETA, FFRDC, and Government lines of authorityAbout the PerksArena offers competitive salaries and an excellent benefits package, along with a positive work environment enabling the success of our staff, company, and customers.
