Position Summary:Primary responsibilities include the strategic leadership and operational guidance of all procedural areas in the GI service line and ensure operational efficiency of multiple practices. These include general gastroenterology, hepatobiliary, and advanced endoscopy services. Provides direction for directors, managers, team leaders, nurses, technologists, and clerical staff within assigned areas. Strategic planning for the procedural areas, practices, market, and organizational level, and staying abreast of current developments are key expectations for this role. The Senior Administrative Director will develop education programs, allocate and assign duties to subordinates, monitor the activities and daily operations of all procedural areas, with peripheral supervision of practice operations within his/her realm of responsibility. Assists in developing, interpreting, and applying hospital policies. Develops long-range plans for facilities, equipment, and personnel as they apply to GI service line. Develops strategic growth plans for GI modalities across the health system. Administers recruitment, performance evaluations, corrective action, union relations and associated matters in assigned areas. Maintains statistical and financial data reports and other reports, as required. Meets or exceeds customer requirements. Responsibilities/Criteria *Directs all operational aspects of the GI Service Line within the professional guidelines of Crozer Health, hospital patient care, administrative policies, external accrediting and inspecting agencies. * Responsible for the strategic and operational management of all business and clinical functions within assigned area. * Maximizes technical, clinical and clerical resources through the interviewing/hiring of employee candidates, performance evaluations, corrective action, and coaching/mentoring of subordinate employees, as appropriate.*Participates in the analysis, development and implementation of system-wide GI initiatives, as requested.*Oversees the operations and general administration of GI services and programs of the health system.* Meets with GI physicians and advanced practitioners monthly to review quality & financial performance, as well as other key indicators. Where necessary, resets performance expectations and monitors with Medical Director.*Responsible for and assesses external and internal customer satisfaction through site visits, rounding, and any other necessary means. Utilizes patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and physician satisfaction reports as measurements.*Participates in the planning of patient care services throughout GI Service Line to ensure that quality and level of care is consistent with patients'' health and care needs. *Develops, in collaboration with GI management, goals and objectives for departments and programs based on system mission and values, plans for delivery of care and scope of services and communicates to staff. Monitors progress on an ongoing basis as evidenced by staff meeting minutes*Coordinates the preparation of operational and capital budgets of departments and programs in GI Service Line, consistent with financial plan, to provide appropriate level of care and establish financial goals. Documents plans and assumptions used in compilation. Utilizes approved capital budget to manage capital expense requests (CERs) for radiology service line. *Monitors all revenue and expenses for assigned areas throughout fiscal year. Verifies and reconciles budgeted funds. Reports on variances and initiates corrective action. Serves as principal facilitator of budgetary process for GI Service Line.*Participates in the establishment, planning and implementation of assessment and improvement of performance for GI Service Line management, clinical and support processes as evidenced by establishment of expectations and measurements, allocations of appropriate resources, establishment of priorities, training of staff and analysis of data.*Develops and maintains positive relationships with all medical staff. Provides leadership and direction for medical staff in matters relating to GI Service Line.*Participates in the setting of standards and in the selection and evaluation of professional and other services provided through contract or referral, as evidenced by RFPs, bids, and contracts.*Reviews space requirements for operations and plans for optimal use according to needs for patient care, safety requirements, financial goals, and market trends.*Establishes and maintains an ongoing communication system across all system GI procedural areas, and works with IT to optimize availability procedure results and patient data for GI surgeons and referring clinicians, as well as optimizing portal access for patients. *Ensures that GI departments establish requirements, accountabilities and performance standards for each position and that all staff is evaluated on an ongoing basis with performance appraisals completed in accordance with CHS policy and time frames. *Ensures that patient services in areas of responsibility are provided in a timely manner through the establishment of standards and tracking of related statistics. *Collaborates in the identification of education, training, and other learning needs of GI personnel and in the development and implementation of appropriate mechanisms to meet those needs.*Promotes the growth and development of supervisors and managers through coaching and counseling, with development of personal goals, provision of opportunities for training, continuing education and skill development, and providing ongoing feedback and guidance. *Maintains current knowledge of all applicable licensing, regulatory and accreditation standards and directs operations to ensure compliance. Communicates standards and changes to staff. *Evaluates current literature and study/research findings for application to radiology practice; shares information and recommends changes as appropriate. *Maintains licensure and certification as required by job requirements and provides documentation.*Assists all internal and external customers as needed, looking beyond individual scope of service. Assists customers through resolution of problem whenever possible. In instances where assistance cannot be provided personally, directs customer to the appropriate individual and/or location.*Oversees development of departmental orientation and in-services training, and continuing education with all clinical and non-clinical persons in assigned areas, including students. The GI managers over each site will complete the above with each clinical staff member, but content should be developed/approved by Sr. Admin Director.*Works as a self-starter. Recognizes and performs tasks to be completed and/or services to be provided. Completes work independently.*Assists with care and maintenance of equipment and supplies.Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work area.Maintains confidentiality of patient information, employee information and other confidential information covered by regulations or professional ethics.Job RequirementsEducation and Training: Bachelor of Science DegreeMaster''s Degree preferredLEAN/Six-Sigma experience preferredCertification of Fellowship in MGMA and/or ACHE preferredExperience:• Minimum five years of experience as a Nursing department leader required.• Minimum of three to five years of experience in GI services strongly preferred.• Requires demonstrated experience inpatient and outpatient markets.• Requires demonstrated experience inpatient and outpatient markets.• Experience working with budgets, expense management, and revenue cycle. • Experience with strategic planning, equipment management, and business development. • Demonstrated experience using business analytics to review, understand and present data to senior management, in support of business decisions.Registration, Licensure and/or Certification: • RN License
