VideosHelp Duties Use knowledge of nursing principles and practices to monitor and evaluate State enforcement of Medicare/Medicaid standards and applicable regulations. Advise officials of State and local agencies, professional organizations, and community groups on Federal health care programs and regulations. Work with various components of the States, with professional societies and associations, groups representing health care providers, and beneficiary representatives in formulating and modifying guidelines and procedures. Provide expert health survey advice to State health care associations, as well as consumer and advocacy groups. Make judgments regarding severity and impact of provider deficient practices and write reports of findings. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours will satisfying the one year of full-time study requirement. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
