Job Description

The Global Expense Data Analyst reports to the AVP, Global Expense Reporting and Analytics. The role is integral to the successful delivery of the Global Expense Analysis and Reporting (GEAR) Program and related projects including, Global Expense Category Governance, Consolidated Human Resource/Finance Analysis and Reporting, and Global Allocations. The successful candidate will use their knowledge of data processing software, and accounting and finance to support the global expense analysis process improvement activities, and on-going measurements of sustainability. They will collaborate with other data/financial system teams, and business partners, to extract data, create reports based on their findings, and monitor key performance indicators to determine transformation initiatives success, and provide insights to project and finance leadership. They will be the primary liaison with the GFO Business Intelligence and Analytics Team (BI/Qlik) and the Planning Analytics team (TM1) and will translate business requirements to enable the development of data analytics and visualization tools. These tools enable hundreds of users, from analysts to finance leadership, to plan, analyze and make business changing decisions. The role requires someone with excellent technical data skills to aggregate and analyze data, and communication skills to support requirements gathering and translation of requirements to technical documents. An understanding of finance system applications (e.g., PeopleSoft, TM1, etc.), data visualization tools (e.g., Qlik) and basic knowledge of finance and accounting is strongly preferred. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced team setting, have an affinity for learning new technologies, a willingness to acquire a deeper understanding of finance processes, and apply critical thinking to problems. Candidates will need to excel in both independent and team settings. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Develop and implement or leverage existing databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency, and structure large data sets to find usable information Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders to acquired data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems to gather and analyze data required to support the analysis of current state processes, gap analysis, and impact of transformational activities Prepare or assist in the preparation of the Business Requirement Documents (BDRs) as required. Engage with the finance SMEs and users to gather and refine business requirements to support analytics and reporting. Create reports for internal teams and/or external stakeholders including requirements gathering, prototype design, and rollout of data visualization (i.e., graphs, infographics, etc.) and financial analytics models in partnership with both end-user stakeholders and BI/Analytics enablement teams. Support the project teams with project and process documentation including business process mapping, data definition, technical roadmaps, etc. Lead or support training sessions for onboarding new users and new processes, technology, and roles. Optimize project management efficiencies through technical improvements to project management activities and dashboards demonstrating progress (status) and success (KPIs) Leadership Coordinate across and within functional teams to align shared objectives and work toward a common purpose. Define and enable a culture of continuous process improvement, project management and change management throughout Chubb Global Finance tactically and by example. Communicate effectively and influence a broad base of stakeholders, including, department leaders, and business partners Actively contribute to the communication and stakeholder management strategies and detailed plans, as directed, to convey all project updates clearly and consistently, status, change request impacts and metrics to all stakeholders
