Visit for more details. Responsibilities We are looking for an experienced Loads Engineer / Structural Dynamicist to join our team of rocket scientists working on cutting edge space missions. While an active security clearance is not required to apply, you must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining a SECRET level clearance. The work is highly technical, so a graduate engineering degree from a top tier university is a strongly desired. Arcfield is responsible for performing launch vehicle Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) analyses in various engineering disciplines including flight mechanics, flight controls, thermal/propulsion, loads & dynamics, structures, and flight software in support of mission integration and mission assurance activities for National Security Space and Intelligence Community missions flying on US launch vehicles including: Atlas V, Delta IV Heavy, Falcon 9, Falcon 9 Heavy, Vulcan and future New Entrants including: New Glenn, Starship and others. Major responsibilities for this position include, but not limited to: * Perform structural dynamic simulations of the launch (aka Coupled Loads Analysis, CLA) to simulate critical phases of flight (Liftoff, Airloads, Staging, Engine start and shutdown, etc.) to predict loads and responses for both the payload and launch vehicle. * Support methodology and tool development of CLA methodologies. * Assemble and check out finite element models to ensure they accurately represent flight hardware. * Validate forcing functions from ground test and/or flight measurements. * Interface with Launch Service Provider (LSP) personnel and resolve technical issues in support of mission integration activities. * Participate in technical reviews and support working group technical meetings. * Document and present IV&V activities and analyses. * Provide technical support to the management as requested. Qualifications * BS 10-12, MS 8-10, Phd 5-7 * Experience and/or coursework involving structural dynamics, component mode synthesis methods, transient and frequency response analysis, modal testing and correlation, vibration, shock or acoustic test, and/or processing of flight data is relevant to the work. * Experience with finite element analysis codes and pre- and post-processors, particularly Nastran and Femap is highly desirable. * Programming expertise using Matlab is required and experience with Python, Perl, DMAP, or other codes is beneficial. * Prior experience with Linux based computer systems is highly beneficial. * Prior experience with dynamic testing of Aerospace structures (modal, sine, random, acoustic, shock, etc.) is highly valued. * Excellent communication and writing skills. * Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team to organize, analyze, document, and present findings both to internal and external customers required. Clearance Requirement: Due to the nature of the work, candidates for this position need to be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining and maintaining a DoD Secret level security clearance. For Colorado Residents Colorado Salary Minimum: $90,900Colorado Salary Maximum: $220,500 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton''s total compensation package for employees.
