It is the goal of UAHS and COM-T to be seen as a leader intechnology at the University and amongst its peer institutions, and this position plays a key role in achieving that vision.The Database Developer/Data Engineer will work within the COM-T Information Technology Services (COM-ITS) to facilitatedatabase design, development and administration by providing underlying data and being responsible for the datastructures and databases. This position will be primarily involved in developing data extraction, transformation andloading process to populated data structures by ensuring databases properties, which will be widely used in reportingand integration purposes. This position will also help in continuous efforts in enhancing reporting time, dataintegrity, database performance, and providing increased functionality in applications.Duties & Responsibilities Create a process for data extraction from data source, transform the acquired data as needed and load them to the central data repository. Provide subject matter expertise and guidance for such process.Deliver data models that are accurate, integrated and of optimal performance.Establish policies, standard, and procedures for securing, gaining access to, and using databases. Develops and maintains technical and non-technical documentation related to the job function. Provide adequate support to UAHS and Research Administration on data, reporting and automated processes.Work closely within the team to translate reporting specifications to technical specifications to incorporate them into data structures.Participate in building innovative data visualizations and reports to help drive business intelligence and data driven culture at UAHS and COMT.Develop and implement a data management structures that enhance teaching, research, learning, and operations at UAHS and COMT. Work closely with stake holders in the design of databases and suggests improvements as needed. Generate conceptual/logical models, produce physical models and document the process.Establish, implement, and maintain security, backup and data recovery policies, procedures and best practices and standards for databases.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProven ability and self-driven to complete projects withhigh quality and timeliness.Ability to design, implement, troubleshoot ETL/ELT jobs.Knowledge in Microsoft Power platform (PowerApps, PowerAutomate and Power BI) to implement automation processes.Knowledge in database modeling techniques and bestpractices.Ability to communicate complicated technical knowledge in away that non-technical data roles will be able to understand.Ability to work successfully independently and in a teamenvironment with strong service orientation towards users with minimalsupervision.Excellent time management and prioritization skills; abilityto manage multiple projects and priorities and meet negotiated timelines Minimum Qualifications Bachelor''s degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
