What You Will Be Doing The Collection Visualization Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning via virtualized systems, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of virtual desktop environment, and related virtualized infrastructure specific to FBI collection systems. The Collection Virtualization Engineer shall also:• Participate in technical R&D discussions/activities to enable continued innovation with the FBI''s collection infrastructure;• Manage and maintain VMware virtualization environment consisting of on premise and cloud infrastructure;• Ensure virtualized system and security health, perform related procedures, and adhere to organizational standards; and• Be accountable for administration, security and deployment of virtualized desktop/server configuration; Who You Are Minimum/General Experience:• Five (5) or more years virtualization architecture and implementation experience, consisting of designing, managing and maintaining an enterprise scale VMware virtualized environment using virtualization products such as vSphere, ESXi, NSX, vRealize, and vCloud;• Virtualized desktop architecture design and deployment experience preferred;• Participate in technical design and implementation of VMware technologies using Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC), Horizon, and similar to support IT mission requirements;• Integrate VMware technologies with Microsoft technologies (Windows Server and AD), and Linux technologies;• Integrate Commercial off the Shelf (COTS)/Government off the Shelf (GOTS) products to support mission requirements at multiple security classifications;• Advanced knowledge/experience managing and maintaining virtualized server/workstation environment, AWS hybrid cloud and cloud-based storage platforms;• In coordination with the security team, identify and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities, and implement controls to mitigate risks and maintain accreditation;• VMware Certified Professional or Expert certification preferred. Minimum Education:Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field of study, or, at the discretion of the government PM, a combination of experience and comparable technical certification such as VMware Certified Professional or Expert may be substituted for education.
