Headquartered in Minneapolis, our organization employs more than 1,200 physicians, 300 advanced practice providers and 2,200 health professionals and staff throughout Minnesota and beyond.Join us on a mission to advance medicine.Faculty Physician - Neuro-Ophthalmology (Assistant or Associate Professor - Academic or Master Clinician Track)The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Ophthalmologist or Neurologist with fellowship-training in neuro-ophthalmology at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank on an academic or master clinician track.The success of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences is built upon the innovation and drive of every member of our team, from faculty to administrators to technicians. We are driven to provide the best eye care for our patients, discover new treatments, and educate the next generation of eye care professionals.About the Appointment: The ideal candidate will have completed an Ophthalmology or Neurology residency with fellowship-training in neuro-ophthalmology.The Department / Division is seeking an individual with a strong interest in neuro-ophthalmology.This position will include clinical duties working in/at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN and possibly one or two satellite facilities.1.0 FTE.This position will include teaching of medical students, residents and fellows.The successful candidate will participate in research projects and other academic/scholarly activities either as a collaborator or independent researcher and participate in faculty development activities tailored to the candidate''s career interests and goals.time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate''s area of specialty/research experience with a goal of developing collaborative or independent, externally funded research. Faculty will be active in their national organizations and foster an academic environment for medical students, residents and faculty.About the Department:The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences and its success is built upon the innovation and drive of every member of our team, from faculty to administrators to technicians. Put simply, all of us are driven to provide the best eye care for our patients, discover new treatments, and educate the next generation of eye care professionals. Primary academic missions of the department are to teach medical students, post-M.D. trainees (residents and fellows), and students in allied health programs, and to advance knowledge in ophthalmology through basic scientific and clinical research endeavors. More at Qualifications:MD or DO degree required.Graduate of an accredited ACGME Ophthalmology or Neurology residency and fellowship training program in neuro-ophthalmology.Board eligible/certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology or Neurology.Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota.Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.
