Payroll SpecialistJOB DESCRIPTIONParamount Apparel International, LLC of Bourbon, MO, a leader in the apparel and headwear industry, is seeking an efficient payroll specialist to be responsible for all tasks involved in processing payroll and maintaining payroll records. Summary/Objective The payroll specialist has a range of duties that include verifying employees'' work hours through the time keeping system, calculating wages, and ensuring employees receive their pay on time through a weekly payroll.To be successful as a payroll specialist you should be able to carry out all tasks with high attention to detail. Ultimately, a top-notch payroll specialist should be highly organized and possess excellent math skills.Essential FunctionsCollecting and verifying employees'' hoursEntering employee information and payroll data into the system.Answering employees'' questions and concerns regarding payroll.Calculating payable hours, bonuses, taxes, and deductions.Processing employees, wage increases and pay adjustments.Issuing statements detailing earnings and deductions.Issuing and delivering paychecks to vestigating and resolving payroll discrepancies.Maintaining and updating payroll records.Preparing weekly, monthly and annual payroll reportsCompetencies and RequirementsHigh school diploma/GED.Degree in accounting or related field preferred.Previous experience in a payroll departmentWorking knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices.Experience working with accounting and payroll softwareExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsProficient in Excel and Google docs.High numerical aptitudeDetail-oriented.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a fast-paced environment. This role routinely requires sitting/standing at a workstation. This position requires large amounts of time on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 poundsPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time, hourly position. Hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Occasional evening, weekend and holiday work may be required as job duties demand.
