Software Engineer with Security Clearance

Description SAIC is actively looking for a Software Engineer to support the Systems Simulation, Software and Integration Directorate (S3I) in continuation of the Institutional Conduct of Fire Trainer (ICOFT) sustainment and development of the Radar Training Device (RTD) in Huntsville, AL. The ICOFT provides realistic institutional training in all areas of the THAAD Enhanced Operator/Maintainer operations and maintenance tasks for the THAAD Fire Control and Communication (TFCC), Radar, and Launcher components. * The candidate will design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that require low level control processing (Interrupts, Timers Digital I/O and serial communication protocols) for electronic, electro-mechanical, or electro-optic equipment. * The candidate will develop embedded software for use on real-time and near real-time operating systems and processors including networking and radio systems. * The candidate will be reading schematics of complex electronic assemblies and conducting multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. * The candidate will determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Qualifications Required Education and Experience: * Bachelor''s Degree and two (2) years of experience; four (4) additional years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree. Required Clearance: * Active Interim Secret Security Clearance (US citizenship required); ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Required Skills: * Experience with an object-oriented language (C, Java, C++, etc.) * Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, etc.) * Experience with software development tools - code editors, debuggers, code generators, and test tools * Experience with or knowledge of modern software design and methodologies (design patterns, development lifecycle, etc.) * Experience with or knowledge of Agile software development * Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment * Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities * Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
