Job Description

Kratos Defense Rocket Support Services is seeking an Aerospace Engineer to participate flight performance analysis of unguided and guided suborbital launch vehicles. Applicant would be responsible for analyzing all elements of launch vehicle flight performance including configuration development, aerodynamics, mass properties, propulsion, trajectory simulation, dispersion estimates, launch parameters and in-flight performance. May require up to 20% travel to support technical meetings, design reviews and launch operations.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:PRIMARY -* Analyze launch vehicle configurations and perform trade studies to support mission development.* Perform aerodynamic analysis to determine aerodynamic force and moment coefficients.* Manage and report overall vehicle mass properties.* Create, shape and analyze ballistic trajectory simulations.* Perform Monte Carlo dispersion analysis for guided and unguided launch vehicles.* Generate and examine predicted vehicle in-flight structural and heating loads.* Create and manage flight safety data reports for Launch Range Safety elements.* Provide ballasting recommendations and wind-weighting support for launch operations.* Post-flight analysis of vehicle performance.SECONDARY -* Support integration of thrust vector control (TVC) guidance, and attitude control system (ACS) software into trajectory simulation and Monte Carlo dispersion models* Data analysis related to flight performance and Monte Carlo trajectory simulations.Required -* Sound knowledge of aerodynamic stability and control.* Good communication skills.* Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.Preferred -* Previous experience working with MATLAB software* Working knowledge of Trajectory Analysis and Optimization Software (TAOS)''LI-AC1As a federal contractor, and consistent with Executive Order 14042, we will require all newly hired employees in the United States to be fully vaccinated by January 18th 2022 or by your start date if it is after January 18th 2022, subject to approved medical, religious or other accommodation
