Admissions Assistant (Non Nurse)

Knowledge in the admission process of patients to a hospital/rehab setting preferred. Knowledge of insurance verification and authorizations preferred. Position SummaryThe Admissions Assistant (Non Nurse) facilitates and supports the admission process in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.Education, Experience, and Licensure RequirementsHigh school graduate or equivalentPrior healthcare experience preferredSpecific Job RequirementsPossess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionKnowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facilityImplement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the departmentPerform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitationMaintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etcMaintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationUnderstand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresDisplays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care''s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance trainingEssential FunctionsGather and enter all necessary admission paperworkProvide assistance for patient and family at time of admissionAssist with follow up visits and interviews with all new patients after admissionAssist or solely provide facility tours to potential and newly admitted patients, families, and any visitorsExhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patientsAssist in the evacuation of patientsDemonstrate dependable, regular attendanceConcentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgmentCommunicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary teamSit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hoursRead, write, speak, and understand the English languageAn Equal Opportunity Employer
